The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Mauricio Rocha and Daniel Cesar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alves connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Alves definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Rafael Dos Santos seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Dos Santos takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Dos Santos misses with a takedown attempt
and Alves counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Dos Santos is lucky that one didn't land flush.
Dos Santos wants to clinch
and Alves cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Alves defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Dos Santos.
Dos Santos misses with a double jab
and Alves counters with a head kick that drops Dos Santos to the mat! Dos Santos scrambles across the canvas and gets back to his feet, still wobbly!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Dos Santos misses with a takedown attempt
letting Alves counter with a right hand.
Luan Alves has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rafael Dos Santos.
Dos Santos closes the distance and clinches up with Alves, looking for a takedown. Dos Santos pushes Alves against the ropes but Alves circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Alves connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Dos Santos's hands.

Dos Santos throws a left and a right that both miss
and Alves counters with a nice right hand that sends Dos Santos toppling to the canvas! Dos Santos scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Alves finish him?!
Dos Santos is still on wobbly legs! Can Alves finish him?
Dos Santos looks winded!
Dos Santos misses with a takedown attempt
and Alves counters with a right, left combo that wobbles Dos Santos badly! Alves follows up with a massive right hook, straight to the bridge of the nose that knocks Dos Santos out cold! Oh wow, what a finish! Very reminiscent of Koscheck vs Yoshida as Alves finished him against the ropes.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:48 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Luan Alves!
In defeat, Rafael Dos Santos stepped up to the mic, saying 'With the strength of Jesus ill be back'.
