Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Mohamed Acevedo! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Chris Reid! The judges for this bout are Sergei Dronov, Aleksei Zolotukhin and Illya Tyunina.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Acevedo stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Reid. Reid instigates a clinch. We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Reid has eaten all the pies! Reid has Acevedo pressed against the cage, preventing Acevedo from circling away and getting back to striking at range. Acevedo wants to break the clinch but can't.
Acevedo pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage. Acevedo slowing the pace effectively. Reid manages to break the clinch.
An inside leg kick from Reid misses. Acevedo swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect. Reid misses with a few strikes there.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Acevedo closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Reid to the mat! Reid manages to get full guard. Acevedo is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Reid is looking to stand up but Acevedo isn't so interested in that idea. Acevedo missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Reid working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Acevedo. Acevedo in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Reid preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Reid wants to stand and escape but Acevedo is having none of it.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Acevedo keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Acevedo tries to keep at a distance but Reid has taken the fight into the clinch. Acevedo is trying to break the clinch but Reid has him pressed against the cage. The referee is keeping an eye on Acevedo - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
A frustrated look appears on Acevedo's face as he tries to break the clinch. Reid is defending well against a takedown attempt. Reid breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Reid rushes Acevedo and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Acevedo is trying to drag Reid to the mat but Reid just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. Acevedo creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Acevedo gets a nice trip takedown into half guard. Reid wants to get back to his feet.
Acevedo thows a huge punch but Reid dodges it nicely.

Acevedo is trying to control. Reid wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Reid wants to get back to his feet. Reid on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Reid rushes Acevedo and presses him up against the cage. Reid blocks the elbow strike.
Acevedo tries to pull guard but Reid forces him back to his feet, against the cage. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mohamed Acevedo. That's going to take a lot out of him. Acevedo drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Reid tries to break free but Acevedo pushes him back against the cage. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Acevedo is trying to pull guard but Reid has him pressed against the cage. Acevedo pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Mohamed Acevedo will probably get the nod. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Reid will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Reid fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Acevedo, pushing him back against the cage. Reid escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Reid throws a quick inside leg kick. Acevedo shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Reid but Reid pushes him off and we're back to square one. Reid throws a counter combo.

No luck for Acevedo with that takedown attempt. Acevedo really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. The fighters circle momentarily. Reid darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Reid throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean. Acevedo looked to counter with a high kick but didn't commit. A low kick from Reid is predictable there and Acevedo counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Reid wants to get back to his feet.
Acevedo seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Reid is trying to stand back up but Acevedo is controlling him
Acevedo perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Reid keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Acevedo is figuring out what he wants to do next. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Acevedo seems to be looking for submissions.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Chris Reid showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Acevedo. Reid is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own. Reid throws a sloppy head kick and Acevedo counters with a big head kick but Reid shrugs it off. Reid misses with a jab, cross combination.
Acevedo seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance. Acevedo checks a leg kick nicely. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Reid dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Acevedo. That did some damage! Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world. Acevedo shoots for a takedown but Reid saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Chris Reid is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Reid lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. Reid gets a clinch. Acevedo's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Reid darts in and clinches Acevedo up against the cage. Acevedo looks to throw an elbow but misses.

Acevedo throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Reid's waist but Reid gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Acevedo off to one side. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mohamed Acevedo. That's going to take a lot out of him. Reid throws a leg kick which misses Acevedo's front leg but catches the back leg as Acevedo tries to avoid it. Chris Reid seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Reid rushes Acevedo and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Acevedo jumps guard but Reid stands there with Acevedo around his waist. Acevedo gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Reid escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Acevedo shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Reid defends it nicely. Reid keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. A combination from Reid does no damage.
And that's the end of the fight! Chris Reid comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Reid has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
