Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Paul Birchall (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Charles Martino (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Martino has chosen DMX - Intro (One Two) as his entrance music. Charles Martino is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are David Hoff, Sandra Marshall and Bart Greer.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Birchall drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Birchall trying to control but Martino is working from the bottom.
Birchall throws a big right hand that misses.
Birchall with a flurry of punches that miss.
Martino avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Martino can do anything to dispel that myth.
Birchall pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Martino is keeping the position for now.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Martino wants to get back to his feet but Birchall is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Birchall has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Birchall tries to pass to full mount but Martino defends it.

Martino is in trouble now - Birchall has advanced to mount!
Birchall is landing with some decent strikes but Martino is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Birchall is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Martino can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Martino really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Birchall. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Birchall is persistently looking for the submission but Martino is defending it well.
Birchall lands with a couple of good shots - one to the side of the head and one questionable shot that could be viewed as to the back of the head but the referee lets it go.

Martino is defending well here and trying to improve his position.
Birchall lands a couple of good shots to his opponent's body and a final shot to the head. Good little attack there by Birchall.
Birchall lands punches and elbows.
Birchall has the hooks in and he's looking for a rear naked choke here. Martino is defending well but eventually Birchall manages to get an arm under the chin and he's locked on the RNC! Martino has no choice but to tap now! He does! This one is all over!
