PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Razor Speed (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Duncan The Tall (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Duncan The Tall will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Razor Speed!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Duncan The Tall!
The judges for this bout are Paul Gruel, Josh West and Colin Fray.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Speed wants to clinch
and The Tall counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Speed tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and The Tall counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Speed shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says The Tall as he avoids it easily.
The Tall scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Speed takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Speed throws a lazy head kick
and The Tall counters with a left to the body.
Speed with a poor takedown
and The Tall counters with a straight right hand.
Speed is breathing heavily.
Speed takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
The Tall connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
The Tall works over Speed's head and body with a nice combination.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Speed closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. The Tall did well to prevent Speed getting side control.

The Tall has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Speed is on him like a limpet, forcing The Tall back against the cage.
A frustrated look appears on The Tall's face as he tries to break the clinch.

That's one minute gone in the round.
The Tall can't break the clinch.
Speed tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. The Tall just stands there and leans against the cage.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Razor Speed. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Speed pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
The Tall lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Speed doesn't succeed with the takedown

and The Tall moves into the clinch.

The Tall breaks the clinch.
Speed takes a body punch but keeps moving.
A lazy left from The Tall finds it's target.
Speed walks into a jab.
Speed fails with the takedown
letting The Tall counter with a right hand.
The Tall scores with a hook to the body. Speed takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
The Tall lands a two punch combo.

Speed is rocked!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Speed misses with a takedown
and The Tall connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Oh Speed is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A combination from The Tall does no damage.
Speed seems to have got his legs back now.
The Tall bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Speed's head backwards.
The Tall drops Speed with a straight right hand, right on the button! The Tall follows him down to the mat and pounds him out with hammerfists until the referee jumps in to end the fight!
