Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Sammy Owens (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jason Voorheez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Voorheez is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Switchez. Jason Voorheez is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 4 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Sammy Owens! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
12 - 9 - 1, fighting out of Hilo, Jason Voorheez! The judges for this bout are Jeff Smith, Roger Salmon and Micheangelo Fripello.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Owens circles away from the clinch attempt.
Owens shoots in looking for a takedown but Voorheez manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Owens's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Owens misses with a wild combination.
Voorheez tries to clinch up but Owens circles away and keeps his distance. Owens misses with a head kick.
Owens throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Voorheez looks like he wants to counter punch here. Voorheez darts in trying to clinch and Owens counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Owens trying to advance position but Voorheez counters by regaining guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Voorheez is trying to control the position from the bottom.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Voorheez is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Owens defends well. Voorheez bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Owens's guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Voorheez in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Voorheez preventing the sweep. Owens utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Owens wants to sweep but no luck. Voorheez trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Owens avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Voorheez throws a strike but Owens rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Owens accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Voorheez utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Voorheez wants to sweep but no luck. Owens content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. That's two minutes gone in the round. Owens scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Owens missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Owens forces his way into half guard. Voorheez is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Voorheez has hold of Owens's hands but Owens slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Owens wants to pass to mount but Voorheez is defending the position. Owens lands with a punch from half guard. Voorheez trying to control but Owens postures up.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Owens is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Owens has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Owens is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Owens throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Owens thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Voorheez's head. Voorheez tries to roll over but Owens keeps him under control. Owens thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Owens wants to take a breather but Voorheez is having none of it. Owens looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Voorheez with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Owens slips a nice elbow through Voorheez's hands, connecting with Voorheez's forehead.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Voorheez is looking to control Owens's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Voorheez avoid being mounted? Owens prevents Voorheez from improving his position. Owens is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Owens wants to take a breather but Voorheez is having none of it. Owens working Voorheez over with strikes. Owens is looking for a kimura but Voorheez is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Owens to get the leverage. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Owens working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Voorheez wants to control but Owens is keeping busy.

Sammy Owens dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Voorheez throws a hook but Owens avoids it easily. Owens circles away from the clinch attempt and Owens counters with a head kick. That will keep Voorheez thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!
Voorheez is rocked! Owens steps in with a hook that catches Voorheez right on the chin and knocks him to the floor! Owens follows him down with more strikes and that's all she wrote! Voorheez looks absolutely devastated.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:19 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Sammy Owens! A relieved looking Sammy Owens thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it. In defeat, Jason Voorheez stepped up to the mic, saying 'Damn... Thats all i can say'.
