Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Piotr Rasputin !
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, David Whyte!
The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Cecil Peabody and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Rasputin .

A momentary lapse in concentration from Whyte enables Rasputin to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Whyte manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Whyte is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Rasputin loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Rasputin accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Whyte has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Rasputin off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Rasputin drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Rasputin jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Rasputin shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Whyte as he avoids it easily.

Rasputin shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Whyte's guard.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Rasputin tries to score with some ground and pound. Whyte controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.

Whyte is not content to let Rasputin control the position.

Whyte takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.

The ground and pound from Rasputin seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.
Rasputin throws a strike aimed at the side of Whyte's head but Whyte avoids it well.
Rasputin throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
Rasputin misses with an attempted head punch from side control.
Rasputin trying to control the action but Whyte is working from the bottom.
Rasputin working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
Rasputin lands a nice forearm strike.

Rasputin is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Whyte has escaped the position, nice work there.

Rasputin lands a strong strike to the head of Whyte. That's dazed him! Rasputin looking to finish here. Whyte is waving his arms around trying to block but he's hurt badly - Rasputin lands more strikes and the referee steps in to end the fight!

After winning the bout, Piotr Rasputin thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
