Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Mike Hunt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John McClaine (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). John McClaine told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the lightweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Mike Hunt! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
10 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, John McClaine! The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Damien Edna and Hugh Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! McClaine changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Hunt looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. McClaine is putting a hurting on Hunt here, landing some big shots from side control. McClaine tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Hunt tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but McClaine wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. McClaine wants to control but Hunt is keeping him busy. McClaine landing strikes. Hunt takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Hunt is trying to get back to half guard. Hunt gets back to half guard. Hunt is on the bottom, trying to hold on to half guard. He's throwing a few small shots here, to keep his opponent honest. Hunt tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land. McClaine passes to side control. Hunt is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked McClaine off and has taken his back!
That's one minute gone in the round. McClaine manages to scramble and ends up in full guard, under a barage of strikes . Great composure from McClaine. Hunt postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. McClaine manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Hunt manages to get himself to full guard.
McClaine pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Hunt is keeping the position for now. McClaine is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Hunt has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. McClaine is looking to defend but Hunt has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for McClaine! Hunt pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, McClaine taps out and this one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:36 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Mike Hunt! Mike Hunt is the new lightweight champion!
