The judges for this bout are Santiago Holmes, Winston Alpacca and Peter Branson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fight stays on the outside here - Matata looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Matata is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Matata tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Kirby appears to be looking for a counter takedown.
Matata keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Matata wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Kirby drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Kirby working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Matata wants to get back to his feet but Kirby drags him back down.

Kirby is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Matata is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Kirby goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Matata rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Kirby's guard! Nice work there by Matata!
Matata wants to stand up, so he's looking to wriggle free of Kirby's closed guard. He's half up but Kirby has locked on to an arm! Uh oh! Kirby pivots and extends the arm, Matata falls face first to the mat and taps??... does he?? YES! He's tapping! Excellent counter grappling there by Kirby! Well done that man!
