PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Sam Maniche (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chan Lei (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lei has chosen Rising Dawn as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Sam Maniche!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Chan Lei!
The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Damien Edna and Hugh Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maniche stuffs the takedown.

Maniche throws a right hand that Lei ducks under and follows up with a left that Lei also avoids with ease.
Maniche fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Lei manages to avoid it.
Lei takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.


It looks like Chan Lei has been cut.
Sam Maniche seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Maniche throws a series of punches but Lei moves out of range.
Lei is looking to clinch but Maniche is avoiding it.

Lei changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Maniche looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Lei tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Lei has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Sam Maniche.
I think Maniche has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
