Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Sean Juan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kevin Coryatt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Coryatt has chosen Welcome 2 Houston as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 8 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Kevin Coryatt!
The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Shigeki Fujiwara and Tatsuya Matsuyama.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Coryatt fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Juan throws a hook to the side of Coryatt's head but Coryatt sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Coryatt shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Juan pinned against the cage. Juan gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Juan appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body.
Kevin Coryatt seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Coryatt goes for a double leg but Juan avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Juan continues to drive forward.
Sean Juan has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kevin Coryatt.
Juan misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Juan darts in and clinches Coryatt up against the cage.
Juan scores with an uppercut up the middle.
Juan struggles to land a body shot inside as Coryatt controls his hands.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Juan tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.

Juan breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Juan clinches up with Coryatt and pushes him back against the cage.

Coryatt swings wildly with an uppercut but Juan uses good head movement to avoid it.

Juan scores with a nice hook to the head.
Coryatt wants to get back to striking at distance but Juan won't allow it.
Juan lands a left hand.
Coryatt gets underhooks to prevent Juan's takedown attempt.

Juan lands a good knee to the midsection. Coryatt won't want to take too many of those.
Juan lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage.

Juan manages to break the clinch.

Juan scores with a nice body kick.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Juan.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Juan wants to control but Coryatt is keeping him busy.
Coryatt stops Juan from passing to mount.

Juan thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Juan in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.
Juan has knee on belly and moves into mount.

Juan forces the positional change into back control.

Juan has managed to slip his arm under Coryatt's chin. This could be all over... yep, Coryatt is tapping out! Submission win for Juan.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:40 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Sean Juan!
