Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Andre Mclean!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kashmire Gates!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Daniel Franklin and Chris Downing.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

A momentary lapse in concentration from Mclean enables Gates to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Mclean manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Gates tries to free his leg and advance position but Mclean is retaining full guard.
Gates keeps trying to improve his position.

Gates is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Mclean is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Mclean has escaped and now he's on top!


Gates working for a triangle but Mclean defends it easily.

Gates has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Mclean can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Gates has his foot on Mclean's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Mclean works his way back into a safe position though.

Gates isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Mclean stacks Gates on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Mclean!

Gates postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Mclean is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Gates, into his guard.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Mclean accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

That was a close round but I would say that Andre Mclean will probably get the nod.

Gates gets tackled into the cage by Mclean. Mclean maintains the clinch.

Mclean manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.

Andre Mclean overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Gates is looking for the mount but instead finds himself back in full guard.

Gates drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Mclean dives on top into guard.

Gates has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Mclean should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Gates has tightened it up now! Mclean should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
