Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Shuya Nanahara (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jared Cowen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Nanahara comes to the cage accompanied by Sail. Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
16 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Shuya Nanahara! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
17 - 11 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Jared Cowen! The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Ian Loll and Steve Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Cowen gets tackled into the cage by Nanahara. Nanahara maintains the clinch. Nanahara blocks an uppercut.
Cowen breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Cowen thows a left - swing and a miss! Cowen looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Cowen scores with a jab to the head.
Nanahara slips a straight right by Cowen. Nanahara has taken the fight to the clinch.
Nanahara lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards. Cowen pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Cowen gets tackled into the cage by Nanahara. Nanahara maintains the clinch. Nanahara's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Nanahara throws a shot from downtown. Cowen moves away and avoids it. Cowen smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button. Nanahara gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Nanahara escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Nanahara on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot. Nanahara throws a right and a left that both miss. Cowen looks like he wants to counter punch here.
That's one minute gone in the round. A big left from Cowen misses. Cowen throws a head kick that misses and Nanahara counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Cowen lands a glancing blow to the side of Nanahara's head. Nanahara tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Nanahara avoids a lazy jab quite easily. A swing and a miss from Cowen. Nice shot lands for Nanahara. Cowen connects with a looping right hand.
Nanahara checks a low kick from Cowen. Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Cowen lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Nanahara has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Nanahara and we're back underway with a touch of gloves. Cowen takes one on the button.
It looks like Jared Cowen has been cut. Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Nanahara, as that shot connected.
Nanahara tries to clinch there but Cowen circles away.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Nanahara moves in looking to clinch but Cowen pushes him off.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Cowen misses with an attempted mid kick.
Cowen feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Nanaharas jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist! Nanahara uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Cowen. Nanahara throws a series of punches but Cowen moves out of range. Nanahara fails in his attempt to clinch. Cowen gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Nanahara. Nanahara misses with a hook to the body
and Cowen counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Cowen jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
Nanahara swinging wildly here.
Cowen blocks a jab. Nanahara is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Cowen pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Nanahara back to the cage. Cowen follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver. Nice shot by Cowen. Cowen throws a series of punches but Nanahara avoids them all with ease. Nanahara swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect. Nanahara uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Cowen. Jared Cowen seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Nanahara throws a jab but it's blocked by Cowen. Cowen just misses with a punch to the body.
Nanahara with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Nanahara is looking to clinch but Cowen is avoiding it.
Nanahara tries to close the distance and clinch up but Cowen swats him away and circles back towards the center. Nanahara avoids the body shot from Cowen.
Nanahara is looking to counter with a shot to the body. Nanahara doesn't manage to clinch there - Cowen circles away.
Cowen throws a leg kick which misses Nanahara's front leg but catches the back leg as Nanahara tries to avoid it.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Cowen throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Cowen lands with a nice combination. Nanahara backs away looking to recover. This has been an exciting period of action! Cowen will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Nanahara throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Cowen. Nanahara slips a jab from Cowen. Cowen swings for the body but Nanahara moves out of range.
Nanahara scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent. Nanahara rushes Cowen and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Cowen throws a punch but it's blocked by Nanahara. Cowen breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Cowen is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Nanahara. The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end. Cowen bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Some wild striking there from Cowen.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Jared Cowen will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Jared Cowen's cut. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Nanahara tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Cowen paws at him with a jab and circles away. The fighters circling - Cowen throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Nanahara is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all. Nanahara drives through and clinches with Cowen against the cage.
A nice right hand lands inside from Nanahara. Cowen tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage. Cowen trying to stall but Nanahara improves his position.
Cowen goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Nanahara breaks from the clinch.
Cowen takes a swing at Nanahara's ribcage but misses. Nanahara takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming. We are yet to see a takedown attempt from Cowen in the fight. On paper you would think he is the more dominant ground fighter so let's see if these unusual tactics pay off. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Cowen throws a head kick that misses. Nanahara wants to clinch up but Cowen keeps it at a distance. Cowen doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter. Cowen lands a nice hook to Nanahara's body. Nanahara takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. Nanahara is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Cowen. Cowen throws out a counter right but Nanahara avoids it with no problem. Nanahara stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
That's one minute gone in the round. Nanahara closes the distance and lands a crisp combination that knocks Cowen out cold! Cowen corner are devastated, head in hands behind our commentary position. Poor guys.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:08 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Shuya Nanahara! After the fight, Shuya Nanahara was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
