Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Rory Markman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Adrian Brewer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 27 - 29 - 0, fighting out of New York, Rory Markman!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Adrian Brewer!
The judges for this bout are William Peck, Robert Douchet and Trevor Gratis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brewer throws a sloppy head kick
and Brewer takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

Markman gets caught flat footed, as Brewer shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Brewer stops Markman from standing up.
Markman looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Markman pulls Brewer in close to prevent any damage.
Brewer seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Brewer won't allow Markman to sweep him here.

Brewer trying to control but Markman is working from the bottom.
Markman utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Markman is trying to keep Brewer in close.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

and Markman counters with a nice body shot.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Markman is not content to let Brewer control the position.
Brewer is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Markman!

Brewer fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Markman avoids it really well and circles away.
It looked like Markman was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Brewer.
Brewer tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

It appears Markman was looking to counter with a kick there.
Markman looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.

Markman tries to sprawl but Brewer drives through with a takedown into half guard.

Markman bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Brewer's guard.

Brewer is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Brewer is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Markman accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Markman trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Markman is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Brewer closes the distance and clinches up with Markman, looking for a takedown. Brewer pushes Markman against the cage but Markman circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Brewer tries to clinch but Markman moves away
and Markman counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Brewer fails to land the takedown.
Markman swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect.
Brewer misses with a combination
and Markman counters with a series of strikes. Brewer will be more careful next time no doubt.

and Markman counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Markman.

Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.


Brewer wants to clinch but Markman slips to the side
and Markman counters with a lovely shot to the body.

Brewer moves into the clinch.
Brewer has a couple of punches blocked by Markman.
Markman avoiding damage as Brewer throws knees to the body.
Markman keeps control of Brewer as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Brewer drags the fight down to the ground.
Markman not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Markman is fighting to break Brewer's control of his arms but Brewer is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Markman controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Markman with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Markman makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Markman postures up and lands a big shot to Brewer's brow.
Markman throws a big elbow that misses.

Good leg kick by Brewer there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Adrian Brewer is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

It looked like Markman wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.

Brewer shoots in and bounces Markman off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Brewer is fighting to break Markman's control of his arms but Markman is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Markman is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Brewer wants to control from the top but Markman keeps moving.
Markman wants to sweep here but Brewer controlling him for the moment.
Brewer advances to half guard.
Brewer is pressing down on Markman's thigh, looking to free his foot. Markman is holding on for now.
Markman gets back to full guard.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Brewer closes the distance and clinches.

Adrian Brewer comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Brewer has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
