Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Vrushak Madhura! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Cole Ohmsford! The judges for this bout are Jeff Smith, Chris Saunders and Ryoma Takatsuka.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Madhura scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Ohmsford manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu! Madhura is looking to control Ohmsford's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Madhura avoid being mounted? The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Madhura actively working from the bottom here. Ohmsford sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Madhura defending well though. Madhura blocking the ground and pound attempt from Ohmsford. Ohmsford throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Madhura works his way to full guard. Good work. Ohmsford is looking to stand up but Madhura won't let him. Ohmsford really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Madhura. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Ohmsford drops back looking for a leg! Madhura is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Madhura manages to kick Ohmsford off! Ohmsford jumps back into Madhura's guard. Ohmsford stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Madhura swivels though and keeps the full guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ohmsford trying to control the position from guard on top but Madhura is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Madhura working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Ohmsford doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Ohmsford manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Ohmsford trying to control the position from guard on top but Madhura is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Ohmsford seems content to control from guard here. That's two minutes gone in the round. Ohmsford trying to control the position from guard on top but Madhura is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Ohmsford stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Madhura swivels though and keeps the full guard. Madhura is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Ohmsford is aware though and is defending well. Madhura working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Ohmsford. Ohmsford throwing strikes from guard but Madhura blocks nicely. Ohmsford trying to control but Madhura is working from the bottom. Ohmsford postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Madhura is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Ohmsford, into his guard.
Madhura has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ohmsford has momentary wrist control but Madhura slips an elbow through the middle. Madhura with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Ohmsford has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Madhura can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Madhura throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Madhura is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Ohmsford utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Madhura throwing strikes from guard but Ohmsford blocks nicely. Ohmsford looking for a sweep. Not yet Ohmsford, not yet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Ohmsford is looking for a triangle but Madhura pushes his legs off easily.
Ohmsford is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Ohmsford keeping moving, preventing Madhura from controlling successfully. Ohmsford looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Madhura postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Ohmsford utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Ohmsford working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Madhura. Madhura landing some decent shots from guard. Ohmsford preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Vrushak Madhura dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Madhura closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Vrushak Madhura overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Madhura landing a few strikes. Ohmsford takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Ohmsford tries to bench press Madhura off him but Madhura keeps the position. Madhura working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.

Ohmsford manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu! Madhura is defending against the submission attempts here by Ohmsford.
Still in half guard, Ohmsford seems content to control. This has been an exciting period of action! Madhura regains full guard. Nicely done. Madhura looking for a triangle here. Ohmsford is fighting it but it looks tight! Madhura pulls the arm across and this one won't last much longer! Nope, Ohmsford is tapping out - this one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:57 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle Choke). Vrushak Madhura! A relieved looking Vrushak Madhura thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
