Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Evan Payton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Petr Kropotkin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kropotkin has chosen Distress - Progress/Regress as his entrance music. Evan Payton could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Petr Kropotkin's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Evan Payton! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Petr Kropotkin! The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Daniel Franklin and Wesley Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Payton looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Kropotkin rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Payton moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Payton misses with a looping right. Kropotkin gets tackled into the cage by Payton. Payton maintains the clinch. Kropotkin softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage. Payton tightens his grip and picks Kropotkin up, before dumping him to the ground. Kropotkin manages to land in guard. Payton slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Kropotkin looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Payton showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Kropotkin keeping moving, preventing Payton from controlling successfully.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kropotkin isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Payton stacks Kropotkin on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Payton! Kropotkin is looking to reverse the position. Payton wants to lay and pray for a moment but Kropotkin keeps working. Kropotkin is trying to get back to half guard. Kropotkin is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Payton is looking to take a break and control but Kropotkin is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Payton wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Kropotkin, who protects the arm well. Kropotkin struggling a bit here. Kropotkin tries to improve position but can't. Payton trying to control the position but Kropotkin is working away. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Kropotkin wants to control but Payton postures up. Payton tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Payton has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kropotkin is not content to let Payton control the position. Payton is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Payton throws a big shot that misses. Nice body punch from Kropotkin. Payton takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket. Kropotkin dips to his left and cracks Payton with an uppercut! Petr Kropotkin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Kropotkin ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Payton moves away. Payton tries to clinch and Kropotkin counters with a stiff right hand. Kropotkin tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Payton was well out of range. Poor timing from Kropotkin. Kropotkin swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Payton.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Kropotkin fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Payton feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Kropotkin has his foot on Payton's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Payton works his way back into a safe position though. Kropotkin controlling the position. Payton makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Kropotkin looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Payton tries to free his leg and advance position but Kropotkin is retaining full guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Petr Kropotkin will probably get the nod. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Kropotkin gets caught flat footed, as Payton shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Kropotkin is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Payton defends well. Payton stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Kropotkin swivels though and keeps the full guard. Payton has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Payton stays in close to Kropotkin's body and controls the position. Payton not landing any meaningful shots this time. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Kropotkin is looking to improve his position.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Kropotkin works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance. Petr Kropotkin is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Payton closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Kropotkin quickly recovers to half guard. Payton is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Payton is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Kropotkin defends it well. Evan Payton overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Kropotkin knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Payton stalling. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The crowd cheers as Kropotkin lands an impressive looking overhand right. Payton doesn't seem phased though. Payton changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Kropotkin looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Payton is looking to take a break and control but Kropotkin is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Kropotkin manages to get back to half guard. Kropotkin is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Payton pulls his head out easily. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Payton is keen to just control but Kropotkin is a slippery customer. Payton is pressing down on Kropotkin's thigh, looking to free his foot. Kropotkin is holding on for now.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Kropotkin looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Payton uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Kropotkin. Petr Kropotkin seems to be getting the better of the standup. Kropotkin fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Payton manages to avoid it. Payton throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Kropotkin's waist but Kropotkin gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Payton off to one side. A punch lands to the side of Payton 's head but he takes it in his stride. Kropotkin scores with a three punch combo!
Payton needs to keep his hands up - Kropotkin had a free shot at his head there. Payton is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Kropotkin has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight. Payton dives in and grabs Kropotkin's left leg, looking for a takedown. Kropotkin pushes down on Payton's head and hops out. Kropotkin doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter. Payton fails with a takedown attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Evan Payton. That's going to take a lot out of him. Kropotkin scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kropotkin stuffs the takedown. Payton on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot. Payton tries to move into range but Kropotkin moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand. Kropotkin throws a nice looking combination but Payton bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Payton fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Kropotkin scores with a nice head shot. Kropotkin displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Payton. And an attempted straight right on the counter from Kropotkin! But no joy. Kropotkin falls off balance throwing a combination
letting Payton counter with a right hand. Kropotkin ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Payton moves away. Payton was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit. Payton gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Kropotkin. Kropotkin connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A looping hook to the body misses from Kropotkin. Payton does a little dance to reset his feet. Kropotkin keeps the fight on the outside. Payton dips down and scores with a jab to the body. This has been an exciting period of action! Payton drops his hands momentarily and Kropotkin takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Payton. Payton tries to clinch up but Kropotkin circles away and keeps his distance. Payton looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Kropotkin is fending him off so far but Payton persists. Nope, Kropotkin circles away and we're back to standing. A jab from Kropotkin finds it's way through Payton's defenses. Kropotkin changes levels and scores with a jab to the body. Kropotkin throws a left and a right that both miss
and Payton cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Jab, jab by Kropotkin - just one landing. Kropotkin keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Payton fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
And that's the end of the fight! Petr Kropotkin comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Kropotkin has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
