Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Polish Engineer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Veli Urhola (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 20 - 15 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Polish Engineer!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 17 - 10 - 0, fighting out of London, Veli Urhola!
The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, Donald Grub and James Ackerman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Urhola connects with a high kick.
Urhola misses with a right hand
and Engineer cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Engineer throws a series of strikes that have Urhola backpedaling.


It looks like Veli Urhola has been cut.
Urhola misses with a head kick.

Engineer closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Urhola tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Engineer wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Urhola is still trying to improve position.
Engineer wants to lay and pray for a moment but Urhola keeps working.
Urhola struggling a bit here.
Urhola tries to bench press Engineer off him but Engineer keeps the position.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Engineer is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Urhola has escaped the position, nice work there.
Engineer tries to advance to mount but Urhola denies him.
Urhola manages to work his way to half guard, despite Engineer's best efforts.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Urhola forces Engineer back against the cage and clinches.
Urhola looking for a takedown.
Urhola softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.
Urhola blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Engineer is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Urhola to keep the fight standing.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Urhola lands an elbow that stopped Engineer in his tracks for a moment.


It looks like Polish Engineer has been cut.
Urhola tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
Engineer prevents a body shot from Urhola.
Urhola drops down looking for an ankle pick but Engineer pulls his leg out and moves away.
Engineer keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Engineer appears to be looking for a big counter.

Engineer clinches.
Engineer misses with a body punch.
Urhola misses with some punches.

Urhola is trying to trip Engineer. He has hold of a leg but Engineer is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Urhola persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

Urhola tries to free his leg and advance position but Engineer is retaining full guard.

Urhola looking to sit in guard and control but Engineer gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.


Urhola working for a triangle but Engineer defends it easily.
Engineer postures up.
Engineer won't allow Urhola to get back to his feet.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Polish Engineer will probably get the nod.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Engineer avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Engineer feinted with a counter takedown.
Urhola circles away from the clinch attempt.
Urhola loads up on a big right hand but Engineer slips the punch.
Urhola dips to his left and cracks Engineer with an uppercut!
Urhola is looking to clinch but Engineer is avoiding it.
Urhola walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Engineer checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
Engineer avoids a punch combination nicely.
Engineer throws a big counter combination but Urhola scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.
Urhola misses with a looping left.
Engineer fails in his attempt to clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Urhola tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Engineer manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Urhola misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Engineer closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Urhola trying to get back to full guard but Engineer takes advantage of the position and moves to full mount!
Urhola is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

Engineer trying to control but Urhola is having none of it.
A nice elbow there by Engineer.
Engineer trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Urhola keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Urhola sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.

Engineer with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
Urhola has been taking part in the yoga sessions down at Canadian Top Team. Presumably he's going to look for a slick submission... Or maybe he's looking to avoid one.
Engineer tries to stand and escape but Urhola is controlling the position.
Urhola makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Urhola.

Urhola looking to hit a scissor sweep but Engineer is one step ahead there.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Urhola keeps trying to improve his position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Urhola is looking to clinch.
Urhola throws a leg kick

and Engineer counters with a crisp one two that drops Urhola! Engineer thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Urhola to his feet! Urhola is in big trouble!


That has opened up Veli Urhola's cut even more.

Urhola defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Engineer.
Urhola tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Engineer manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Urhola moves into range and clinches up with Engineer.
Engineer is trying to pull guard but Urhola turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Urhola with an attempt at a knee that misses.
Urhola looking to throw knees to the head but Engineer is blocking nicely.

Urhola has a couple of punches blocked by Engineer.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Urhola using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Engineer has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Engineer gets underhooks to prevent Urhola's takedown attempt.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Veli Urhola showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!



Engineer throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Urhola tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Engineer is in Urhola's guard.
Urhola is controlling Engineer's posture.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Urhola tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Engineer wants to control from the top but Urhola keeps moving.
Urhola looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

Urhola is looking to regain half guard here but Engineer keeps moving and retains side control.
Polish Engineer overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Engineer works to advance to full mount. Urhola defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.

Urhola sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.

Urhola tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Engineer has advanced to mount. Uh oh.
Engineer tries to control but Urhola wriggling away.

The cut above Veli Urhola's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Engineer fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!


Veli Urhola's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Veli Urhola's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:53 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Polish Engineer!
During a confident post fight interview, Polish Engineer thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
