Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jaska Jokunen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Max Riot VI (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Riot VI has chosen Grand Magus - Iron Will as his entrance music. Max Riot VI has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Jaska Jokunen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Max Riot VI!
The judges for this bout are Tarja Halkonen, Matti Vanhoillinen and Roosa Järviläinen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Riot VI drops his hands momentarily and Jokunen takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.

Riot VI closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Riot VI lands in his opponent's guard.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Riot VI stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet.
Riot VI looks for a takedown but Jokunen sprawls well.
Jokunen throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Riot VI sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Jokunen wants to land a leg kick but Riot VI is out of range.

Riot VI tries to close the distance and clinch but Jokunen swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

That was a close round but I would say that Jaska Jokunen will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Riot VI changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Jokunen looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Riot VI works to advance to full mount. Jokunen defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.
Riot VI wants to take his opponent's back but Jokunen doesn't allow it.
Riot VI takes his opponent's back. Perhaps a chance to lock up a rear naked choke here.
You can see the frustration on Jokunen's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

Jokunen is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Riot VI gets his way!

Jokunen is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Riot VI gets his way!

Riot VI is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Jokunen defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Jokunen manages to reverse the position and now he's in Riot VI's guard. Nice work there by Jokunen.

Riot VI escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Jokunen gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Jokunen passes Riot VI's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Riot VI is not content to let Jokunen control the position.
Riot VI is looking for a sweep. Jokunen is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Jokunen is tying to control. Riot VI wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Riot VI regains full guard. Nicely done.
Jokunen stands and throws Riot VI's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Riot VI manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Riot VI has a hand on Jokunen's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Jokunen takes advantage of the position though and mounts him!

Jokunen takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Riot VI is squirming around, avoiding Jokunen's attempts to control the action.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Max Riot VI showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!


Riot VI shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Jokunen as he jumps to the side.
Riot VI throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Jokunen's waist but Jokunen gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Riot VI off to one side.
Jokunen connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Jokunen misses with a series of wild punches.
Riot VI fails with the takedown.
Jaska Jokunen has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Max Riot VI.
Jokunen throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Jokunen lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Riot VI takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Jokunen closes the distance and clinches.

Riot VI tries to pull guard but Jokunen holds him up against the cage and eventually Riot VI drops back down to his feet.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Riot VI had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Jokunen is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Riot VI Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Jokunen's back instead.

Riot VI has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Jokunen can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Riot VI takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.

Riot VI wants to pass the guard but Jokunen is keeping the position.

And that's the end of the fight!
Jaska Jokunen showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Jokunen has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
