Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kauko Tyrmä (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Boris Jelsin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Boris Jelsin told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Kauko Tyrmä! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Boris Jelsin! The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Dirk Anderson and Michael Johnstone.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Tyrmä connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Jelsin momentarily.
Tyrmä wants to clinch. Jelsin clinches with his opponent.
Tyrmä tries to break the clinch but Jelsin is controlling the position. Jelsin tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Tyrmä is looking to break free of the clinch but Jelsin has double underhooks. Jelsin taking a breather. Jelsin pulls guard successfully.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Jelsin is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage. Jelsin trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage. Jelsin bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Tyrmä's guard. Tyrmä is trying to control the position from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jelsin sitting in guard here, content to control. Jelsin decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. Tyrmä lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook. Jelsin wants to clinch. Jelsin shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Tyrmä counters with a three punch combo that has Jelsin backing up. Jelsin nods at Tyrmä to acknowledge the strikes. Tyrmä fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Jelsin, pushing him back against the cage. Jelsin with an attempt at a knee that misses.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Jelsin breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Jelsin fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Kauko Tyrmä has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Boris Jelsin. Tyrmä gets a clinch. Jelsin has Tyrmä pressed against the cage, preventing Tyrmä from circling away and getting back to striking at range. Tyrmä tries to break the clinch but Jelsin is controlling the position. Jelsin drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Tyrmä gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Tyrmä has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors. Jelsin is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Tyrmä gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. Jelsin wants a takedown but no success here.

That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Jelsin looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. Jelsin with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.

Jelsin doesn't succeed with the takedown and Tyrmä counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Tyrmä lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Jelsin circles away quickly and effectively. Tyrmä scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Tyrmä tries to clinch there but Jelsin circles away.
Jelsin shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Tyrmä as he avoids it easily. A right-left combo lands from Tyrmä. Tyrmä lands with an uppercut that bounces Jelsin off the cage and back into range. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Kauko Tyrmä dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Jelsin has a takedown stuffed. Jelsin throws a front kick aimed at Tyrmä's knee but Tyrmä avoids it well. Jelsin showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Tyrmä.
Jelsin shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Tyrmä as he avoids it easily. Jelsin waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Tyrmä. Jelsin throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Tyrmä counters with a nice uppercut. Tyrmä rushes Jelsin and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Tyrmä can't break the clinch.

That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Jelsin throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Tyrmä smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button. Tyrmä lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt. Jelsin takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

Tyrmä pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Jelsin back to the cage. Tyrmä follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver. A nice combination there by Tyrmä.

Jelsin throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Tyrmä's waist but Tyrmä gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Jelsin off to one side. Kauko Tyrmä is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Tyrmä clinches. Tyrmä has had enough of the clinch but Jelsin keeps him there for the moment. Jelsin pulls guard effortlessly. Boris Jelsin has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Jelsin looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
And that's the end of the fight! Kauko Tyrmä showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Tyrmä, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
