Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Yoel Askren (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Airton Silverio (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Silverio has chosen Cranberries - Zombie as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Yoel Askren!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Airton Silverio!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Don Winkell and Frank Antenori.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Askren swats away the attempt to clinch by Silverio.
Silverio throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

Askren moves into the clinch.
Silverio with an attempt at a knee that misses.
Silverio with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.

Askren is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Silverio can't fight it off and eventually Askren manages to take the fight to the floor. Silverio looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Askren decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Askren displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Silverio throws out the jab.
Askren swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect.

Askren fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Silverio, pushing him back against the cage.

Askren tries to work over Silverio's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Silverio throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Askren blocks it with crossed arms.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Silverio throws a knee to the head but misses.

Askren has picked Silverio up - he's going for a ride! Askren dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.

Silverio is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Askren pulls his head out easily.

Askren lands with a punch from half guard.

Silverio is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Askren's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Askren's back!

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Silverio might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Askren haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Askren lands a nice forearm strike.
Silverio tries to buck Askren off but Askren is having none of it.
Silverio is trying to control Askren's posture but Askren avoids it.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Silverio tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Askren was well out of range. Poor timing from Silverio.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Askren tightens his grip and picks Silverio up, before dumping him to the ground. Silverio manages to land in guard.

Askren is in close to Silverio's body, working some short punches and elbows.

Silverio looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

Silverio pushes a forearm under Askren's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Askren is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!
