Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 27 - 18 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Daniel Moreira!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 20 - 24 - 0, fighting out of London, Duke Richard!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Stewart Dunkirk and Robert Twigg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Richard checks a leg kick.
Moreira lands with a nice body punch.

Richard dives in and scores a takedown into Moreira's guard.
Richard stops Moreira from standing up.
Richard won't allow Moreira to sweep him here.
Richard trying to pass the guard. He's being very persistent here but Moreira manages to land a sweep and now he's on top!


Richard is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Moreira is aware though and is defending well.

Richard escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Moreira gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Moreira takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Richard really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Moreira. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Richard on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Moreira is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Richard wants to improve his position but Moreira is controlling well.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Moreira connects with a nice short shot to Richard's temple.
Moreira winds up and cracks Richard with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Richard is trying to get back to full guard.
Richard is staying active underneath Moreira, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Richard is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Moreira pulls his head out easily.

Moreira stalling.
Moreira seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Richard does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Moreira is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Moreira is taking a breather. Richard says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Richard has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Moreira is working away from the top position though.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Moreira lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.

Moreira throws a shot to the body.
Moreira dodges the punch combination from Richard.
Richard fails with the takedown.

Moreira drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Richard takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
You can see the frustration on Richard's face as Moreira controls the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Richard throws an elbow that misses. Moreira uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Richard's guard. Nice move by Moreira!

Moreira looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Richard with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Richard is looking to control Moreira's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Richard avoid being mounted?
Moreira is keen to just control but Richard is a slippery customer.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Richard is defending against the submission attempts here by Moreira.
Richard is trying to get back to full guard.
Moreira content to control rather than advance.

Daniel Moreira overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Richard is staying active underneath Moreira, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Moreira throws a solid leg kick but Richard takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Moreira.

Moreira scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Duke Richard is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Moreira connects with a nice looking jab.

Moreira lands a nice hook to Richard's body. Richard takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Richard takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Moreira is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Richard can do to turn this around?

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Moreira drops back looking for a leg! Richard is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Richard manages to kick Moreira off! Moreira jumps back into Richard's guard.
Moreira is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.


Moreira looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Moreira does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Richard is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.
Richard tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Moreira swivels and escapes.
Moreira changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.
Moreira throws a half hearted mid kick.
And Richard tries to counter it with a takedown but Moreira pushes his down on his head and steps out.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Moreira manages to capitalize on a mistake by Richard to take his back!
You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.

Moreira's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Richard can't escape the position.

Well Moreira has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
