Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sergio Hernandez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Benny Brett (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hernandez comes to the cage accompanied by Immortal Technique - Golpe De Estado. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hernandez swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Brett closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Hernandez's guard.

Brett wants to control from the top but Hernandez keeps moving.

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Brett has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

That was a close round but I would say that Sergio Hernandez will probably get the nod.

Hernandez wants to slow Brett down by chopping away at his legs.
Hernandez pivots, looking for a leg kick but Brett is out of range and Hernandez settles back down.
Hernandez is looking to wear down Brett with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Hernandez enables Brett to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Hernandez manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Brett stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Hernandez swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Brett is looking to advance position but Hernandez has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!
Brett wants to improve position but instead he's given up his back.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Hernandez has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.

Brett throws a nice outside leg kick.
Hernandez throws a body punch but Brett moves out of range.

and Brett counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.

and Brett counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Hernandez throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Brett has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Hernandez.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Brett is fighting to break Hernandez's control of his arms but Hernandez is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Hernandez stuffs the takedown attempt from Brett. Brett gets slowly back to his feet.

Hernandez bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Brett's head backwards.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Sergio Hernandez is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Hernandez connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Sergio Hernandez.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Hernandez, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
