Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Emilio Cerci (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Genichiro Shimada (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Genichiro Shimada! The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Winston Alpacca and David Hoff.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Shimada slips under a jab. Cerci fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Shimada manages to avoid it. Shimada looks to land a right hand but Cerci moved out of range. Shimada slips a jab from Cerci. Cerci lands with an overhand left. Cerci misses with a right hand and Shimada counters with a straight right hand. Cerci tries to keep at a distance but Shimada has taken the fight into the clinch. Shimada lands a right hand. Cerci lands a hook that snaps the head of Shimada backwards. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Cerci prevents a body shot from Shimada. Shimada doesn't land with the attempted body shot.

With the fighters clinched against the cage, Shimada creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut. Cerci tries to break the clinch but Shimada is controlling the position. Cerci is trying to force a seperation but Shimada has the dominant position. Cerci throws a punch but it's blocked by Shimada. Cerci blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Shimada works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.
Shimada tries to throw a body punch but Cerci avoids it by throwing Shimada back against the cage. Cerci looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio. Shimada misses with a hook to the ribs.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Shimada lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Cerci. Shimada tries to throw a body punch but Cerci avoids it by throwing Shimada back against the cage. The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Cerci takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life. Shimada working aggressively here.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Shimada throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges. A short right from Shimada. Shimada working some nice short punches in the clinch. Shimada lands a right hand that snaps the head of Cerci backwards.

Oh Cerci is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! A left hand lands to the body for Shimada.
Shimada is working Cerci over against the cage. Shimada throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges. Shimada throws a big uppercut that drops Cerci! More strikes from Shimada and the referee jumps in to stop the fight! Cerci lies dazed against the cage as Shimada celebrates with his cornermen!
