Morrison's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, The Clocks. Volkov is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Love the way you hate me. . Sid Morrison had a look across the ring there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Sid Morrison!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Viktor Volkov!
The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Taro Takaoka.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Volkov misses with a few strikes there.

Morrison clinches with his opponent.
Morrison's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.

Volkov gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Volkov trying to control but Morrison is working from the bottom.
Morrison manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Volkov manages to get himself to full guard.

Morrison controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Morrison has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Morrison wants to pass the guard but Volkov is keeping the position.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Volkov wants to get back to his feet but Morrison passes into half guard.
Volkov tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Morrison has advanced to mount. Uh oh.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Volkov can do anything to dispel that myth.

Morrison is working for a guillotine from mount but Volkov frees his head quite easily.
Morrison tries to control but Volkov wriggling away.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Morrison throws some wild stikes that Volkov manages to avoid easily.
Morrison controlling from the full mount.
Morrison avoids the attempt from Volkov to control.

Morrison working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet.

Morrison is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Volkov to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Volkov shrugs it off.
Volkov wants to hold on but Morrison pushes him away.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Morrison quickly switches position and commits to an armbar! It's a big risk for Morrison but it's paid off an Volkov is forced to tap! Nice work by Morrison.
