Alves is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Sick Puppies - You're Going Down. Arjun Batar has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ricardo Alves!
The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Shirou Masuda.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Batar misses with a takedown attempt - Alves sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Batar slips a jab and a cross from Alves.

Alves looks to land a combination but Batar avoids it well.

Batar changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Alves tries to avoid it but Batar manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Alves to the ground. Alves escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Batar on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Alves throws a right and a left that both miss.
Alves stuns Batar with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.

Batar takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

and Alves counters with a three punch combo that has Batar backing up. Batar nods at Alves to acknowledge the strikes.

and Alves counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

Alves is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Batar had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.

Alves lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Batar walks into a stiff left hand from Alves.

Batar takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Batar ducks right into an uppercut from Alves.
Batar looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that.
Alves lands a left and a right that send Batar crashing to the mat, dazed. Alves thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Batar is rocked!
Arjun Batar's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.
Batar is starting to get sloppy and is letting his hands down. Alves just took advantage and landed a stinging jab. Oh! Now a right hook, right on the button! Batar has gone limp and this one is over!
