Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, AC Slater! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 7 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mack Ua! The judges for this bout are Jorge Garcia, Alyssa Summers and John Kavanagh.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Slater scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Ua regains half guard, as Slater was trying to land strikes. Ua avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Slater. Slater thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Ua's head. Slater is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Ua keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Slater missing with the ground and pound from half guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Ua taking some punishment here, with Slater in his half guard. The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Slater decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Slater throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Ua works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Slater trying to control the position from guard on top but Ua is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Slater closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Ua quickly recovers to half guard. Slater lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. Slater thows a huge punch but Ua dodges it nicely.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Ua avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Slater. Slater is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Ua has hold of Slater's hands but Slater slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Slater looks to score some points with some ground and pound. Slater throwing shots but Ua is blocking nicely. Slater perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Slater throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Slater not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Slater content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
AC Slater dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Ua lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected. The fighters circling - Ua throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Excellent takedown into side control there by Slater. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Slater is working Ua over with some ground and pound from side control. Slater working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Slater advances to mount. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Slater throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Ua because Slater loaded up on that one. Slater is stalling here but it's allowed Ua to get half guard.

Slater sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Ua defending well though. Slater is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Slater missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Slater is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Ua can do to turn this around? Slater missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Ua trying to control from the bottom.
Slater lands with a punch from half guard. Slater is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Ua bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Slater's head backwards. Slater takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away. Slater darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Ua is rocked! Slater lands a massive shot from half guard that has rocked Ua! More strikes land and this one is all over! Slater jumps to his feet and is applauded loudly by the crowd!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:41 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). AC Slater! A relieved looking AC Slater thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
