Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Sal Atkinson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Fabian Peters (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Sal Atkinson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Fabian Peters!
The judges for this bout are Saam Ante, Aafke Stam and Patrick Alders.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Peters shoots in and drives through. Atkinson sprawls well.

Peters closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Atkinson to the mat! Atkinson manages to get full guard.
Peters stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Atkinson swivels though and keeps the full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Atkinson looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
Atkinson is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Atkinson seems to be looking for submissions.

Peters is defending against the submission attempts here by Atkinson.

Peters wants to control but Atkinson is keeping busy.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Atkinson has decided to stand back up but his arm is trapped. Whilst he's worrying about his arm, Peters works to full guard.

Atkinson drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Peters manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Atkinson has Peters in his guard.

Peters wants to control from the top but Atkinson keeps moving.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Peters throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Peters misses with a takedown attempt - Atkinson sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Peters closes the distance and clinches.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Atkinson gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Peters.
Sal Atkinson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Fabian Peters.

Atkinson turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Sal Atkinson will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Atkinson manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Peters manages to get himself to full guard.

Atkinson working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Peters's head.
Peters not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Peters seems keen to control Atkinson's posture.
Atkinson throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Atkinson is in close to Peters's body, working some short punches and elbows.

The fighters are working up against the cage. Peters manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.
A head punch on the inside from Peters fails to land.

Peters jumps guard and drags Atkinson to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Peters is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Atkinson loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Peters is breathing heavily.
Atkinson is working Peters over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Peters is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Atkinson would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Atkinson tries to score a power double leg takedown but Peters sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Atkinson somewhat.

Peters gets a clinch.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Peters is looking for a takedown.

Fabian Peters showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!


Atkinson scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Peters will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Fabian Peters is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Atkinson throws a lazy right hand but Peters sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Peters tightens his grip and picks Atkinson up, before dumping him to the ground. Atkinson manages to land in guard.

Peters thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Atkinson trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.

Peters has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Atkinson uses from the top position.
Peters lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Atkinson wants to sweep but no luck.
Atkinson wants to control the position but Peters says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.
Peters stops Atkinson from getting back to his feet.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Peters trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Peters lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Atkinson hang on?

Fabian Peters comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Peters has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
