Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ignacio Dixon! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, David McKeehan! The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Frank Dennis and Alan Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! McKeehan misses with a kick to the body.
Dixon shoots in for a double leg but McKeehan sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. The fight moves into the clinch position. McKeehan jumps guard and drags Dixon to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. McKeehan controlling Dixon's posture. Dixon wants to control from the top but McKeehan keeps moving. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. McKeehan has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall. Dixon wants to control from the top but McKeehan keeps moving.
That's one minute gone in the round. Dixon content to stall in guard here. McKeehan is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. McKeehan keeping moving, preventing Dixon from controlling successfully. Dixon avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Dixon closes the distance but McKeehan moves to the side and McKeehan counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by McKeehan!
It looks like Ignacio Dixon has been cut. David McKeehan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. McKeehan stuffs the takedown.

McKeehan is pushing Dixon up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word. McKeehan avoiding damage as Dixon throws knees to the body.
Dixon is trying to pull guard but McKeehan has him pressed against the cage. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ignacio Dixon. That's going to take a lot out of him. Dixon has picked McKeehan up - he's going for a ride! Dixon dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard. This has been an exciting period of action! Dixon wants to take a breather but McKeehan is having none of it. McKeehan wants to get back to full guard. Dixon knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for McKeehan on the ground. McKeehan is defending against the submission attempts here by Dixon.

Dixon trying to control the position from guard on top but McKeehan is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. McKeehan is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Dixon might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Dixon drops back, looking for a kneebar! McKeehan looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. McKeehan looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from McKeehan!
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. You can see the frustration on Dixon's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. McKeehan fails to land a wild elbow strike.
That's four minutes gone in the round. McKeehan tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. McKeehan has knee on belly and moves into mount. McKeehan throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage. Dixon is looking to get to half guard. Dixon holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as McKeehan tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. McKeehan controlling the position easily from mount. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
David McKeehan dominated that round. The cut man is working on Ignacio Dixon's cut. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
McKeehan dives in and scores a takedown into Dixon's guard. Dixon utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. McKeehan is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Dixon could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. McKeehan throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Dixon had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. McKeehan defends it easily. Dixon wants to sweep but no luck. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

McKeehan postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. McKeehan not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. McKeehan clinches up with Dixon and pushes him back against the cage. Dixon looking to slow down the pace here. Dixon lands with a good tight uppercut to the head. McKeehan blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Dixon misses with a short punch on the inside. McKeehan lands an uppercut. Dixon is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath. McKeehan has had enough of the clinch but Dixon keeps him there for the moment. Dixon tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. McKeehan just stands there and leans against the cage. Dixon misses with a shot to the kidneys.

Dixon wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. McKeehan has been the more effective fighter overall so far. A nice left hand lands by Dixon.
Dixon has McKeehan pressed against the cage, preventing McKeehan from circling away and getting back to striking at range. Dixon tries to work over McKeehan's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
That's three minutes gone in the round. McKeehan keeps control of Dixon as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. McKeehan has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Dixon uses from the top position. McKeehan tries to land a sweep but no joy. McKeehan escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Dixon gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Dixon has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Dixon trying to control but McKeehan is working from the bottom. Dixon tries to stand but McKeehan is controlling from the bottom. McKeehan pulls Dixon in close to his closed guard and prevents Dixon from doing any damage or advancing position. Dixon wants to control from the top but McKeehan keeps moving.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Dixon being controlled here momentarily. McKeehan looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. McKeehan shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Dixon's guard. Dixon wants to hit a switch here but McKeehan passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Dixon there! McKeehan controlling the position easily from mount. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! McKeehan working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Dixon dives in and grabs McKeehan's left leg, looking for a takedown. McKeehan pushes down on Dixon's head and hops out. McKeehan moves into the clinch successfully.

Dixon is trying to break the clinch but McKeehan is controlling him. Dixon is trying to maintain a safe position but McKeehan gets an underhook and turns Dixon into the cage. Dixon lands an elbow that stopped McKeehan in his tracks for a moment. McKeehan has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Dixon clear over his head and slammed him to the mat! McKeehan slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.
McKeehan is not going to allow Dixon to sit and survive in this position. McKeehan is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.

McKeehan is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Dixon has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here. Dixon is very frustrated here, being controlled quite effectively by McKeehan.

And that's the end of the fight! David McKeehan comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well McKeehan has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today.
