Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Ethan Horton! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Johnny Evans! The judges for this bout are Tarja Halkonen, Roosa Järviläinen and Marco Blurström.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Evans moves into the clinch successfully.
Evans tries to circle away but Horton has him pinned against the cage. Evans gets control of Horton's arms and successfully pulls guard. Evans will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back. Evans should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. Horton controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Horton gets to his feet. Evans looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! Johnny Evans seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Horton gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Evans wants to control from the top but Horton keeps moving. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Evans won't allow Horton to sweep him here. Evans trying to control the position from guard on top but Horton is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Evans tries to free his leg and advance position but Horton is retaining full guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Horton looking for submissions off his back. Evans controlling the action here. Horton is defending against the submission attempts here by Evans.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Evans gets a takedown into half guard. Evans tries to stand but can't do so whilst Horton controls his leg. Horton wants to control but Evans is keeping busy.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Evans tries to pass the half guard into mount. Horton knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Horton tries to get to full guard but Evans has control of the leg. Horton is trying to control but can't.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. Horton looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Horton avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Evans. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Horton looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Johnny Evans dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Evans takes the fight into the clinch. Evans wants the takedown. Horton is fighting it off but Evans persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Horton's guard against the cage. Horton is pulling down on Evans's head. It's preventing any offense from Evans, at least for the moment. Horton is trying to keep Evans in close.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Evans trying to control but Horton is working from the bottom. Horton is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Evans defends well. Evans has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
That's one minute gone in the round. Horton pulls Evans in close to his closed guard and prevents Evans from doing any damage or advancing position. Horton not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Evans got a little sloppy there for a moment and Horton has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Evans has managed to get both his arms back between Horton's legs - danger averted. Evans wants to control from the top but Horton keeps moving. Evans must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Horton trying to control the position.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Horton is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Evans is looking to stand up but Horton won't let him. Evans trying to control the position from guard on top but Horton is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Evans postures up.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Evans closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Horton quickly recovers to half guard. The fighters are battling for position here. Horton manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Horton looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Evans's corner is telling him to maintain position. Horton will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Evans wants to control from the top but Horton keeps moving. Evans trying to stand up but can't free himself from Horton's guard. Horton has his feet on Evans's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work. Evans scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Evans misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
The ground and pound from Evans seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent. Horton is trying to get back to half guard. Horton is trying to control Evans's posture but Evans avoids it.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet. Evans wants to stand but Horton is controlling his arm. Evans lands some shots froms side control. Horton tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Evans wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Evans tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Evans has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Evans taking a break here but Horton is having none of it and regains half guard. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Horton keeping control of the position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Johnny Evans showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!
Evans closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Horton did well to prevent Evans getting side control. Horton is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment. Horton actively working from the bottom here. Evans is keen to just control but Horton is a slippery customer. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Evans might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Horton haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. Horton trying to control but Evans postures up.

Evans wants to pass to mount but Horton is defending the position. Horton is looking for a sweep. Evans is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Evans is looking to take a break and control but Horton is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Evans throws a head kick that misses. Evans takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Evans tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Evans shoots in and gets a takedown into Horton's guard. Horton working for a triangle but Evans defends it easily.
Horton working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Evans doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Evans manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Evans is posturing up here but Horton has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Evans tries to roll out but it's too tight and Evans has to tap! Slick submission there by Horton!
