PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rick Deckard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Zeus Zorrander (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Deckard might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to In Lust. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

With a record of 15 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Zeus Zorrander!
The judges for this bout are Chris Saunders, Josh West and Micheangelo Fripello.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Zorrander throws a body kick that misses.
Zorrander throws out a leg kick but Deckard moves out of range and Zorrander only half commits.
Deckard seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.
Zorrander misses with an uppercut. Deckard saw that one coming.

Thud! ouch! good body kick from Zorrander - that will leave a mark!
Zorrander lands with a thumping leg kick.
Zorrander fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Deckard has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Deckard on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Deckard has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Zorrander.

Zeus Zorrander seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Zorrander bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.
Zorrander misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Deckard.
Zorrander throws a quick inside leg kick.
A kick lands to the mid section there for Zorrander.
Zorrander swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Deckard throws a big counter combination but Zorrander scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.
Deckard takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Zorrander throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Deckard is looking for a counter combo.
Zorrander fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
Zorrander lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.

Zorrander bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Deckard is trying to improve his position.
Zorrander wants to lay and pray for a moment but Deckard keeps working.
Deckard is looking to reverse the position.
Deckard sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
Deckard tries to roll over but Zorrander keeps him under control.

Zorrander seems to be looking for submissions.

Zorrander passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Deckard!

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Deckard bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Zorrander's guard.

Zorrander wants to sweep here but Deckard controlling him for the moment.
Deckard throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Zorrander works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Deckard missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Zorrander is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Deckard ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
It looked like Deckard was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
Zorrander walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Deckard checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
Deckard seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.
Zorrander throws a front kick aimed at Deckard's knee but Deckard avoids it well.

Zorrander closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Deckard quickly recovers to half guard.

Zorrander seems to be looking for submissions.
Zorrander prevents Deckard from improving his position.
Deckard missing with punches from the bottom.

Deckard is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Deckard is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Zorrander's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Zorrander's back!
Deckard doesn't have the hooks in and Zorrander manages to turn into his guard.
Zorrander won't allow Deckard to sweep him here.

Deckard throws a couple of punches but he's in a bad position and they don't land.

Zorrander wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Deckard, who protects the arm well.
Deckard is trying to control Zorrander's posture but Zorrander avoids it.
Deckard tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Zorrander tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Zorrander has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Deckard throws an elbow that doesn't really do any damage.

Zorrander goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Deckard has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Zorrander but great work by Deckard.
Zorrander has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Deckard wants to lay and pray for a moment but Zorrander keeps working.

Deckard has hold of Zorrander's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Zorrander seems comfortable defending it but Deckard has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Zorrander is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Zorrander is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Deckard couldn't care less - he's delighted!

After the fight, Rick Deckard was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
