Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, David Schapiro and Russell Pearce.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gilliam uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Gilliam throws an overhand right that lands on Skank Pier's shoulder, as Skank Pier tries to avoid the shot.
Skank Pier drops down looking for a counter takedown but Gilliam sprawls and moves away.
Skank Pier moves forwards but Gilliam connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Skank Pier has his takedown stuffed
and Gilliam counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Gilliam seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

Skank Pier tries to score a power double leg takedown but Gilliam sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Skank Pier somewhat.
Gilliam is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.

As Gilliam tries to get set, Skank Pier tries to push him back and clinch up but Gilliam manages to avoid the attempt.
Skank Pier shoots in but no luck this time.

Skank Pier shoots in and drives through. Gilliam sprawls well.
Gilliam fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Skank Pier to the ground. Gilliam is now in Skank Pier's guard.
Gilliam trying to control the position from guard on top but Skank Pier is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Gilliam might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Skank Pier haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Gilliam must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Gilliam accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Gilliam's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Gilliam wants to control from the top but Skank Pier keeps moving.

Gilliam postures up in Skank Pier's guard and throws a big left but Skank Pier blocks it.
Gilliam postures up and lands a big shot to Skank Pier's brow.
Gilliam throws a strike but Skank Pier rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Skank Pier gets to his feet. Gilliam looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Devon Gilliam seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Skank Pier with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Gilliam to score with a decent uppercut.
Skank Pier takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Gilliam throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Skank Pier on the side of the head.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Gilliam lands a big uppercut and Skank Pier crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Skank Pier looks OK. Gilliam waves Skank Pier back to his feet!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Gilliam ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Gilliam jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Skank Pier is trying hard to land a takedown here. Gilliam sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
And Gilliam tries to counter it with a takedown but Skank Pier pushes his down on his head and steps out.
Skank Pier loses concentration momentarily and Gilliam pounces with a three punch combo! Right, left, right! Skank Pier crashes face first to the mat, out cold! Gilliam finishes this one with a fantastically precise combo! Great stuff.
