Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kung Lao (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mondial Dos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Kung Lao has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Kung Lao!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Mondial Dos!
The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Summer Carpenter and Donatello Bradman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A head kick misses from Lao.

Dos fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Lao sprawls well initially but Dos persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Dos wants to control but Lao is keeping him busy.
Dos throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Dos wants to stand up but Lao has a hold of him and won't allow it.
Dos really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Lao. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Lao is staying active underneath Dos, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Lao has one foot on Dos's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.
Dos scores with a nice body kick.
Lao is breathing heavily.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
A head kick from Dos lands but Lao takes it in his stride.


It looks like Kung Lao has been cut.

Dos tries for a takedown but Lao sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Lao gets caught flat footed, as Dos shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Dos trying to stand up but can't free himself from Lao's guard.
Dos lands a couple of decent looking shots.

Dos is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Dos drops back looking for a leg! Lao is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Lao manages to kick Dos off! Dos jumps back into Lao's guard.
Lao could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Dos stays in close to Lao's body and controls the position.
Lao can't keep his opponent in guard - Dos advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Lao blocking the ground and pound attempt from Dos.

Dos seems to be working for a kimura but Lao defends the submission attempt.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Dos is tying to control. Lao wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Dos prevents Lao from standing back up.
Nice strikes from Dos there.
Dos thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Dos wants to pass to mount but Lao is defending the position.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Dos changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Lao tries to avoid it but Dos manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Lao to the ground. Lao escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
A nice combination there by Dos.
Lao stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Dos.
Dos misses with a two punch combination.

Dos shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Dos was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Dos tries to control but Lao wriggling away.

Kung Lao's cut is getting worse.
Dos content just to control the position here.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mondial Dos dominated that round.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


A left and a right from Dos both land. Nice combination.

Dos gets a clinch.

Dos lands a takedown into guard.
Lao is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Dos is controlling him.

Dos stands up from Lao's guard - Dos perhaps looking for a knockout.

Kung Lao is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Dos has closed the distance and engaged Lao in a clinch.

Dos pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Dos looks for a takedown but Lao sprawls well.
Dos shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Lao as he jumps to the side.

Kung Lao has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mondial Dos.

Kung Lao seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Dos advances position into side control!

Dos stands up and beckons Lao to his feet.
A solid leg kick lands there for Dos.

Dos has managed to clinch.

Dos breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Dos lands with a kick to the ribs.
Dos fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Dos moves into the clinch successfully.

Dos unloads a knee to the mid-section. Lao lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh.
Dos lands a body shot in the clinch.

Dos escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Dos shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.

Dos looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
Dos looking to control but Lao is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Lao's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.

Dos stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet.

Dos fails to land the takedown.
Dos moves in looking to clinch but Lao pushes him off.
A head kick from Dos lands but Lao takes it in his stride.
Lao doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
A punch combination from Dos misses.
Kung Lao is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Lao on the wrong end of a nice jab.


Kung Lao's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.
Dos has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Dos fails with a takedown attempt from distance.

and Dos counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Dos wants to take a breather but Lao is having none of it.
Dos not landing any meaningful shots this time.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mondial Dos showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!


Dos misses with a wild combination.
A head kick misses from Dos.
Mondial Dos seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Lao lands with a shot to the body.
Dos misses with a hook. Lao ducked under it nicely.
Dos looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Dos throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Lao's head.

Dos is taking a breather. Lao says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Mondial Dos has got the better of the ground game so far.
Dos lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Dos tries to pass to full mount but Lao defends it.

Dos is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Dos takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Dos wants to take a breather but Lao is having none of it.

Dos is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, Lao has managed to free his arm - good work.
Dos perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Dos trying to pass the guard but Lao defending well.

Dos wants to stand up but Lao is controlling the position.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Both fighters circling a little - Dos finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.
Lao slips a jab and a cross from Dos.
Dos shoots in and drives through. Lao sprawls well.
Lao misses with a kick to the body.
Dos throws a right and a left that Lao avoids nicely.
Good work by Dos as he checks the leg kick.
Dos fails with a takedown attempt.
Kung Lao has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mondial Dos.
Lao throws a sloppy head kick and Dos moves out of range easily.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Dos shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Dos showed some decent athleticism there.

Dos is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Lao kicks off Dos and gets to his feet.
Dos looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Dos shoots in for a double leg but Lao sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Kung Lao has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Mondial Dos is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Dos throws a mid kick that lands with a slap.

And that's the end of the fight!
Mondial Dos comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Dos has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
