Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jules Green! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Edison Arantes! The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Alexandre Firmino and Matheus Silva.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Arantes throws a sloppy head kick and Green moves out of range easily. Green is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Arantes. Green really is a fat lump. Arantes looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight! A momentary lapse in concentration from Arantes enables Green to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Arantes manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Green trying to control the position from guard on top but Arantes is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Green content to stall in guard here. Green is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Green might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Arantes moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination. Green closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Green thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Green wants to lay and pray for a moment but Arantes keeps working.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Green looks up at the clock and then as Arantes takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Green smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Green is trying to get an arm triangle but Arantes is defending well. Green tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Green has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Green is looking to take a break and control but Arantes is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Green decides to stand back up. Green throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Arantes tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Green is in Arantes's guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Green advances to half guard. Green with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. Arantes is defending against the submission attempts here by Green.
Arantes is staying active underneath Green, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Green is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Arantes sees it coming and defends easily. Green perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Green is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Arantes doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Green. Green is figuring out what he wants to do next. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Green is trying to control the action in half guard but Arantes is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Green perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jules Green dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Green throws a body shot but no joy. Green scores with a takedown into Arantes's guard. Green controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Green scoring with punches to the head and body. Green wanted to stand there but Arantes had control of the position. Arantes keeping moving, preventing Green from controlling successfully. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Green slips nicely into half guard. Arantes is breathing heavily. Green is figuring out what he wants to do next.
That's one minute gone in the round. Arantes is in trouble now - Green has advanced to mount! Green has control of Arantes's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Arantes regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Green is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Arantes can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Green tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Green with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Green stands up from mount. Strange move. Jules Green is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Green wants to clinch. Arantes pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Green tries to clinch but Arantes moves out of range. Green shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Arantes napping and manages to drive through into side control! Green is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Arantes can do to turn this around? Green thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Green in side control lands a decent elbow.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Arantes is trying to control Green's posture but Green avoids it. Arantes is trying to escape the position but Green is controlling the position. Jules Green overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Green trying to control the action but Arantes is working from the bottom. Arantes on the wrong end of some ground and pound. Green lands some shots froms side control. Green scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Arantes to see if he's OK. Green is putting a hurting on Arantes here, landing some big shots from side control. Green controls the position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Green cracks Arantes with an elbow. That is naaassty. Arantes taking a bit of punishment here - Green scoring with strikes. Arantes is not content to let Green control the position. Green scores with punches from side control. Green taking a breather here. Arantes takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Green tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Arantes being controlled for a moment. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jules Green dominated that second round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Green looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Arantes takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Green looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Arantes with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Green not doing much here.
Green is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Green seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. Arantes is not content to let Green control the position. Green is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Arantes doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Green. Green trying to pass the guard but Arantes defending well.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Green content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Green tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Arantes paws at him with a jab and circles away. Arantes gets caught flat footed, as Green shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Green sitting in guard, not really doing much. Green with a flurry of punches that miss. Green wants to control from the top but Arantes keeps moving.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Green controls from within his opponent's guard. Green has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. This is a sustained period of stalling by Green. Arantes trying to keep a closed guard but Green is proving a slippery customer.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Green avoids a punch combination nicely.
And that's the end of the fight! Jules Green showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Green, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
