Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Fahad Al Qarni (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sinbad Baba (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Al Qarni's entrance music is Hells Bells. A fine choice. Baba has chosen King of Seven Seas as his entrance music. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
10 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Fahad Al Qarni! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
13 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Sinbad Baba! The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, George Francis and Stewart Dunkirk.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Baba throws a jab but it's blocked by Al Qarni. Baba swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
It looked like Al Qarni wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit. No luck with that takedown attempt from Al Qarni. Baba blocks a jab. Al Qarni fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Al Qarni scores with a nice right hand.
Baba misses with a two punch combination.
The fighters circle momentarily. Al Qarni darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch. Nice jab there from Al Qarni. Al Qarni throws a poor cross that misses
enabling Baba to counter with a crisp jab. Baba misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Al Qarni dodges the punch combination from Baba.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Baba throws a nice looking combination but Al Qarni bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Al Qarni shoots in for a takedown but Baba shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Fahad Al Qarni. That's going to take a lot out of him. A cross from Baba lands. Al Qarni misses with a few strikes there.
Al Qarni drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Al Qarni tries to free his leg and advance position but Baba is retaining full guard. Al Qarni is looking to pass into half guard but Baba pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Baba is in guard.
Al Qarni escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Baba gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Al Qarni looking to hit a scissor sweep but Baba is one step ahead there. Al Qarni working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Baba doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Baba manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Al Qarni is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Baba is aware though and is defending well.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Al Qarni has a closed guard, preventing Baba from standing up. Al Qarni had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Baba defends it easily. Al Qarni looking for subs off his back but Baba has passed one foot through into half guard.
Al Qarni is staying active underneath Baba, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Baba tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Al Qarni. Al Qarni is refusing to be controlled, as Baba sits in half guard. Al Qarni tries to roll over but Baba keeps him under control. Al Qarni moves into full guard.
Al Qarni is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Baba defends well. Baba must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Baba gets to his feet. Al Qarni looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Baba feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Al Qarni's calf. Al Qarni lands a body shot.
Baba misses the shot to the body. Al Qarni swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect. Baba throws a nice looking combination but Al Qarni bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Baba cracks Al Qarni with a good jab. Baba walks into a jab. Baba slips under a jab from Al Qarni. Al Qarni is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot. Baba blocks a jab. Baba on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Baba lands a nice leg kick that just misses Al Qarni's sensitive parts. Al Qarni takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor. Baba swings for the body but Al Qarni moves out of range.
Baba misses with a looping right. Al Qarni swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Baba. Baba throws a right hand that misses
and Al Qarni counters with a stiff right hand. Al Qarni feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Babas jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Fahad Al Qarni will probably get the nod. That's time! Back to the action!
Baba throws a series of punches but Al Qarni moves out of range. Nice cross by Al Qarni. Fahad Al Qarni seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Al Qarni is pawing at Baba, trying to feel the distance before throwing out a cross that crashes into Baba's nose. Baba is badly hurt! Al Qarni pounces, throwing wild strikes as both fighters end up on the ground! Baba tries desperately to hold on but Al Qarni is relentless in his assault! As Baba receives an ever increasing number of unanswered strikes the referee pulls Al Qarni away and this one is in the books!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:12 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Fahad Al Qarni! Fahad Al Qarni retains his welterweight title! After winning the bout, Fahad Al Qarni thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
