Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Daiki Tanimoto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and JJ Thomas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Thomas has chosen Linkin Park - In the End as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
13 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Daiki Tanimoto! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
19 - 7 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, JJ Thomas! The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Stewart Dunkirk and Tiny Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Thomas lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Jab from Thomas. Thomas throws a body shot but no joy. Tanimoto misses with a head kick.
Thomas connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Tanimoto's hands. Thomas takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.
Tanimoto pushes Thomas away with a front kick. Tanimoto takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor. Thomas swinging wildly here.
Thomas connects with a single shot there. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Thomas misses the shot to the body. Tanimoto ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Tanimoto slips a jab and a cross from Thomas.
Thomas takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. Tanimoto throws a series of punches but Thomas avoids them all with ease. Tanimoto lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. Tanimoto tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Tanimoto tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
That's one minute gone in the round. A big left from Thomas misses. Tanimoto lands with a kick to the ribs.
Tanimoto throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Thomas. Tanimoto gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there. Thomas throws a shot from downtown. Tanimoto moves away and avoids it. Thomas scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent. Tanimoto shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Thomas as he avoids it easily. Tanimoto slips a straight right by Thomas. An inside leg kick from Tanimoto misses. Tanimoto throws a nice outside leg kick. Tanimoto slips under a jab from Thomas. Tanimoto ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Thomas might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable. Thomas looks to land a left hand but Tanimoto moved out of range nicely. Tanimoto seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter. Tanimoto avoids a punch combination nicely.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Thomas jabs Tanimoto right on the nose. Tanimoto blinks but takes it well. Thomas uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Tanimoto.
Tanimoto keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Thomas. Thomas throws a hook to the side of Tanimoto's head but Tanimoto sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Tanimoto.

A lazy body kick from Tanimoto and Thomas connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Thomas swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Tanimoto slips a jab from Thomas. Tanimoto shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Thomas eats them both and turns towards Tanimoto to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo. Tanimoto misses with a body kick. Thomas checks a low kick from Tanimoto. Tanimoto pivots, looking for a leg kick but Thomas is out of range and Tanimoto settles back down. Tanimoto throws a quick inside leg kick. Thomas will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Tanimoto lands with a slapping head kick. Tanimoto takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. Tanimoto avoids the body shot from Thomas.

Thomas lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected. Thomas throws an overhand right that lands on Tanimoto's shoulder, as Tanimoto tries to avoid the shot. Thomas scores with a crisp jab that stopped Tanimoto in his tracks. Tanimoto gets a takedown into half guard. Tanimoto winds up and cracks Thomas with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Thomas is trying to maintain the position but Tanimoto is very close to passing his half guard. Tanimoto looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Thomas trying to hold on to Tanimoto's head to control him but Tanimoto postures up.
Tanimoto works his way into full mount! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Daiki Tanimoto will probably get the nod. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!
Thomas throws a body shot but no joy. Tanimoto displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Thomas throws out the jab. Thomas pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Tanimoto keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Thomas. Tanimoto appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body. Tanimoto throws a solid leg kick but Thomas takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Tanimoto. A jab lands there for Thomas. No joy there for Thomas, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Thomas throws the left hand but Tanimoto avoids the punch easily. An inside leg kick lands from Tanimoto. Tanimoto slips under a jab. Tanimoto instigates a clinch. A short right hand to the side of the head by Thomas. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. A head punch on the inside from Thomas fails to land. Thomas lands a hook that snaps the head of Tanimoto backwards. Tanimoto turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Tanimoto manages to end up in side control. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Tanimoto wants to control but Thomas is keeping him busy. Thomas tries to get back to half guard but can't.
That's one minute gone in the round. Tanimoto is putting a hurting on Thomas here, landing some big shots from side control. A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Tanimoto trying to control the position but Thomas is working away. Tanimoto advances to full mount. Tanimoto connects with a couple of good shots from mount.

Tanimoto is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Thomas is surviving well by controlling Tanimoto's body position as best he can. Tanimoto avoids the attempt from Thomas to control.

Tanimoto takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Tanimoto wants to control the pace but Thomas is squirming around nicely. Thomas is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Tanimoto wants to control the action but instead Thomas gets a body lock and reverses into Tanimoto's guard! Nice work! Tanimoto working a defensive guard here.
Tanimoto is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Tanimoto is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Thomas slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Tanimoto sneaks back into half guard. Tanimoto is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Thomas is working for a submission of some sort.

Perhaps he's looking to stall. Tanimoto continues to stall. Thomas preventing the sweep. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Daiki Tanimoto dominated that second round. That's time! Back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!
Tanimoto tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Thomas was well out of range. Poor timing from Tanimoto. Tanimoto throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Thomas misses with a looping left. Nice cross by Thomas. Thomas bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Tanimoto's head. Tanimoto misses with a body kick. Thomas throws the left hand but Tanimoto avoids the punch easily. Thomas avoids a kick to the body.
Thomas bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut. Thomas throws a jab when Tanimoto was well out of range. Tanimoto throws a quick counter kick to the body but Thomas avoids it. Tanimoto throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Tanimoto clinches. Tanimoto wants a takedown.
A head punch blocked on the inside by Tanimoto. Thomas tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage. Tanimoto is trying to drag Thomas to the mat but Thomas just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. Tanimoto has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Thomas avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Daiki Tanimoto. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Tanimoto shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Thomas as he jumps to the side. Thomas lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A shot to the liver by Tanimoto. Beautiful body shot. Thomas moves into range and connects with a jab. Thomas throws a right and a left that Tanimoto avoids nicely. This has been an exciting period of action! Tanimoto lunges at Thomas with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Thomas's hand. Tanimoto throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Thomas closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Tanimoto did well to prevent Thomas getting side control. Thomas passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Tanimoto! Tanimoto is working to get back to half guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Tanimoto slips a leg in and gets back to half guard. JJ Thomas has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Tanimoto wants to improve his position but Thomas is controlling well.
Tanimoto wants to control but Thomas is keeping busy and won't allow it. Thomas wants to pass the guard but Tanimoto is defending well. Thomas looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Thomas is pressing down on Tanimoto's thigh, looking to free his foot. Tanimoto is holding on for now. Tanimoto slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Tanimoto escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Thomas gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Thomas tries to free his leg and advance position but Tanimoto is retaining full guard. Daiki Tanimoto is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Tanimoto is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
And that's the end of the fight! JJ Thomas comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Tanimoto has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
