The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Don Winkell and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Putin looks to score with a jab to the body but Bentner is just out of range.
Bentner uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Putin.
Bentner takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Putin tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Bentner was well out of range. Poor timing from Putin.
Bentner drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Putin defends it well.

Putin throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Bentner moves into the clinch.
Putin digs a right hand into Bentner's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Bentner's gas tank.

Bentner drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Putin gets the underhooks and prevents it.

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Bentner has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

Bentner is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.

Putin is pressed up against the cage. Bentner has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Putin down to the mat. Putin avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Putin lands a left and a right that send Bentner crashing to the mat, dazed. Putin thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Bentner is still on wobbly legs! Can Putin finish him?
It looks like Nick Bentner has been cut.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Putin misses with an uppercut.
Putin sets himself, and Bentner steps forward looking for the clinch! Putin avoids it this time.
Bentner seems to have recovered his senses.
Putin ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Bentner moves away.
That's four minutes gone in the round.
Putin walks forward and throws a big overhand right! Bentner drops to the floor like a sack of potatoes! Putin swarms on him with more punches until the referee wrestles him away from Bentner's unconscious body! Wow, that was brutal!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:08 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Vlad Putin!
A less than humble Vlad Putin misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
