The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Cantor throws a sloppy head kick and Rubin moves out of range easily. Rubin throws a leg kick that is checked and Cantor counters with an outside leg kick.
Rubin throws a lazy body kick and Cantor counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work. Rubin is looking to clinch but Cantor is avoiding it.
Rubin backing away here, and Cantor unleashes a leg kick that just misses. Rubin getting the better of the striking in that exchange. Cantor tests Rubin's chin there with a solid looking shot. Rubin feints and then cracks Cantor's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Cantor down. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Rubin looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.

It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Cantor wants it to stay on the feet. It seemed like Cantor was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it. Rubin throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Cantor throws a fast counter high kick but Rubin manages to duck under it in time. Rubin has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance. Maxwell Rubin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. A bone on bone clash there as Rubin blocks the leg kick.
Rubin tries to score a power double leg takedown but Cantor sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Rubin somewhat. Cantor stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Rubin.

Cantor has clasped his hands together around Rubin's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done. Rubin tries to bench press Cantor off him but Cantor keeps the position. Cantor trying to control the position but Rubin is working away. Cantor wants to control for a moment but Rubin uses the opportunity to move back to half guard. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Rubin is staying active underneath Cantor, who seems content to just control the action from this position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Maxwell Rubin will probably get the nod. That's time! Back to the action!

Cantor takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh. Cantor ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Rubin throws a half hearted mid kick. Cantor only half commits to the counter leg kick. Rubin avoids the head kick by Cantor.

Infact he's such a weird shape that he's almost like some sort of comedy character - it's hard to believe he's real. Rubin ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Maxwell Rubin is winning the standup battle so far. Rubin misses with a body kick. Rubin tries to land a front kick but Cantor steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. Rubin throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Rubin fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Cantor manages to avoid it. Cantor connects with an inside leg kick. This has been an exciting period of action! Rubin gets cracked there but stands up to it.

Rubin darts in and clinches Cantor up against the cage. Roger Cantor has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Maxwell Rubin has scored more points in the clinch so far. This has been an exciting period of action! Cantor misses with a knee strike.
And that's the end of the fight! Maxwell Rubin showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Rubin, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
