The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Excellent takedown into side control there by Kampi.
Kampi prevents Lands from escaping the position.
Lands manages to work his way to half guard, despite Kampi's best efforts.
Kampi tries to pass the half guard into mount. Lands knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Kampi looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Kampi wants to pass the guard but Lands is defending well.
Kampi thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Lands's head.
Lands is trying to stand back up but Kampi is controlling him
Lands regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Kampi.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Kampi knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Lands on the ground.
Kampi won't allow Lands to sweep him here.
Lands is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Lands wants to get back to his feet but Kampi is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
