Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Mario Linic! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Steven Fredriksson! The judges for this bout are Anni Minnemäki, Ben Zyskovitsi and Matti Vanhoillinen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Linic digs a good body shot into Fredriksson's ribs. Fredriksson misses with a looping left. A combination from Fredriksson does no damage. Linic moves away from the strike by Fredriksson. Fredriksson throws a lazy right hand but Linic sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Linic moves out of range of the strikes. Fredriksson swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Linic's corner calls for a 1-2. Linic obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range. Linic throws the left hand but Fredriksson avoids the punch easily. Linic waving his hands out infront of him, looking to distract Fredriksson. Linic closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Linic lands in his opponent's guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Linic is standing up over Fredriksson. Fredriksson looks to escape but Linic dives into side control.
Linic looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Linic trying to control the position but Fredriksson is working away. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Fredriksson is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Linic is controlling him well. Linic has hold of Fredriksson's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Fredriksson seems comfortable defending it but Linic has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Fredriksson is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Fredriksson is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Linic couldn't care less - he's delighted!
