Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Demarcus Potts (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ze Vasco Leite (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters really staring each other down here, as Ze Vasco Leite enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Demarcus Potts!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ze Vasco Leite!
The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Seu Braga and Mauricio Rocha.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Potts fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Leite sprawls well initially but Potts persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Potts is trying to control. Leite wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Potts is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Leite doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Potts.

Leite looking for submissions off his back.
Leite works his way to full guard. Good work.
Leite is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Potts is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Potts tries to stand but Leite is controlling from the bottom.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Leite stands up and we're back to a striking position.

Leite shoots in and gets a takedown into Potts's guard.

Potts is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Potts working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Leite doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Leite manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Leite controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Leite pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Potts is keeping the position for now.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Potts is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Leite is aware though and is defending well.
Potts not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Leite wants to lay and pray for a moment but Potts keeps working.
Potts dodges the ground and pound from Leite.
Leite throws an elbow but Potts slips to the side and avoids it well.

Leite stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
No luck with that takedown attempt from Potts.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!



Leite shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Potts's guard.
Potts is striking from the bottom but Leite uses the opportunity to pass into half guard.

Leite decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Potts is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Leite pulls his head out easily.

Leite tries to pass the half guard into mount. Potts knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Potts kicks off Leite and gets to his feet.

Leite looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Leite is looking to take a break and control but Potts is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Leite has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Leite is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.

Potts wants to control but Leite is keeping busy.
Leite throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Potts is looking to control Leite's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Potts avoid being mounted?
Potts tries to kick Leite off but Leite keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Leite thuds a left hand into Potts's body.

Leite throws a series of punches but Potts moves out of range.

Potts drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Leite is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
The fighters are battling for position here. Leite manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

A lazy body kick from Leite
and Potts counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Horrible takedown attempt by Potts or perhaps it was just good defense by Leite, which made it look bad.
Nice sprawl there from Leite as Potts shoots in.
Potts really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Potts clinches up with Leite and pushes him back against the cage.

Potts drags the fight down to the ground.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Potts is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.
Potts jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Leite walks away with a smile on his face. Potts gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Demarcus Potts. That's going to take a lot out of him.

A close second round but Ze Vasco Leite will probably get the nod - 10:9.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. And we move into the final round!


Sloppy strikes from Leite. Those never looked like landing.

Potts is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Leite is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Leite not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Leite bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Leite takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Potts is looking to reverse the position.

Leite is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Potts is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Potts pushes Leite away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Leite gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

Potts trying to control but Leite flips him over like a cheap hooker and has his back!
Potts trying to control but he's just got himself in more trouble.

Potts is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.

You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.

Let's hope that Leite has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Potts trying to control the action but Leite just sinks the hooks in.

Leite has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Potts has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
A lull in the action here.
Potts trying to control the hands but Leite won't let him.
Potts is defending well here and trying to improve his position.

Potts trying to get back to his feet but Leite is in full control for now.

Leite looking to break Potts's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Potts remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Leite will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!

Ze Vasco Leite comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Leite winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
