Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Denver Vasquez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Shido Itsuka (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Denver Vasquez has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Denver Vasquez! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Shido Itsuka! The judges for this bout are Taro Takaoka, Shirou Masuda and Sosuke Kotani.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Itsuka drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Itsuka drops back looking for a leg! Vasquez is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Vasquez manages to kick Itsuka off! Itsuka jumps back into Vasquez's guard. Itsuka passes Vasquez's left leg - he's now in half guard. Itsuka is trying to work for a kimura but Vasquez is defending well.
Itsuka content to control rather than advance. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Itsuka throwing shots but Vasquez is blocking nicely.
That's one minute gone in the round. Vasquez has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Itsuka is working away from the top position though. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Itsuka in particular looking to stall. Vasquez really is a fat lump. Vasquez is looking to control Itsuka's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Vasquez avoid being mounted? Itsuka content to control rather than advance. It looks like Itsuka might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it. Itsuka is working for a kimura but Vasquez is defending it quite comfortably.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Vasquez is not content to let Itsuka control the position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Itsuka has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Vasquez defend it? Itsuka steps over the head and cranks it - Vasquez is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Itsuka!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:34 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Shido Itsuka!
