Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Wess West (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Swag Demon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Swag Demon has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Wess West!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Swag Demon!
The judges for this bout are , Timothy Bukovac and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

West rushes Demon and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

West gets a trip takedown into half guard.
Still in half guard, West seems content to control.
Demon trying to control here.
West tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Demon.
West missing with the ground and pound from half guard.
West throwing shots but Demon is blocking nicely.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
West works his way into full mount!
West throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.

Demon avoids a strike by West and manages to complete a very nice reversal in the process, to end up in West's guard! Fantastic escape!

West has an active guard here but Demon has managed to pass into half guard.
Demon seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
West has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Demon is working away from the top position though.
West is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Demon's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Demon's back!
Demon trying to control but he's just got himself in more trouble.
Demon is being controlled on the ground here - he must escape this position otherwise surely the end is near.
Demon looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment.

So, who will make the next big move? In this position it could be crucial.

West biding his time, controlling Demon.
West wants to control but Demon is keeping busy.

Demon rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.
Demon avoiding damage under a succession of punches from West.
Demon tries to get to full guard but West has control of the leg.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
West trying to mount his opponent but Demon defends it.
West is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
Demon is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of West's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take West's back!
Demon is looking to control West but West is wriggling around and keeping busy.
Demon lands with a big left hand that may well have hurt his opponent. Can West hold on?!
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Demon wants to control but West is keeping busy.
Demon controlling well, preventing West from escaping the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


West throws a push kick but Demon slaps the foot to one side.
Demon drops down looking to force a counter takedown but West defends it well.
Demon looking to land some kicks to the body here.
A head kick misses from Demon.
West seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.
Demon rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but West moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
West wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.
Demon attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.
West shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Demon as he avoids it easily.
Demon is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.

Demon looks to land a combination but West avoids it well.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
West throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Demon.
Demon fails in his attempt to clinch.

West closes the distance and clinches.
Demon misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from West.
Demon takes an elbow to the temple.

West jumps guard.
West keeping moving, preventing Demon from controlling successfully.
Demon loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
West can't keep his opponent in guard - Demon advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

West wants to control but Demon is keeping busy and won't allow it.
West is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment.
West wants to improve his position but Demon is controlling well.
Demon trying to control from half guard but West is working away.
The fighters are battling for position here. West manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Wess West overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
West utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
West is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
West has a closed guard, preventing Demon from standing up.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

West shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Demon is trying to defend but West finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
West wants to pass the guard but Demon is defending well.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Demon wants to control but West is keeping busy and won't allow it.
West not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Wess West dominated that second round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!


Demon shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has West pinned against the cage. West gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
West was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.

West moves into range and clinches up with Demon.
Some stalling of biblical proportions here from West.
The referee is keeping an eye on West - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
Demon jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as West walks away with a smile on his face. Demon gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

West avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Demon closes the distance and clinches up with West, looking for a takedown. Demon pushes West against the cage but West circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Wess West has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Swag Demon.
Demon tries to score with a low kick but West moves his leg out of the way.

Demon gets caught flat footed, as West shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Demon is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and West defends well.

West is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
West is fighting to break Demon's control of his arms but Demon is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
West fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
West leaves Demon with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
West scores with a jab to the body.
Demon shoots in but no luck this time.
Demon shoots for a double leg takedown but West sprawls well. He's pushed Demon's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Demon takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

West clinches.

West breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Demon is trying hard to land a takedown here. West sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Demon tries to close the distance and clinch up but West swats him away and circles back towards the center.

West drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
West looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
West trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
West has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
West wants to control from the top but Demon keeps moving.
West postures up.

West looking to sit in guard and control but Demon gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Demon tries to free his leg and advance position but West is retaining full guard.
West bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Demon's guard.

West is fighting to break Demon's control of his arms but Demon is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
West postures up in Demon's guard and throws a big left but Demon blocks it.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
West trying to control the position from guard on top but Demon is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Swag Demon has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Wess West is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Demon trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!

And that's the end of the fight!
Wess West showed his dominance in that final round.
Well West has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
