Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ricardo Reis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alexandre Carlitos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Reis comes to the cage accompanied by Enter Sandman. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ricardo Reis! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Alexandre Carlitos ! The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Paulo Santos and Leandro Rodrigues.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Reis throws a quick inside leg kick. Reis keeps Carlitos at a distance using the push kick. Ricardo Reis seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Reis fails in his attempt to clinch. Carlitos tries to bum rush Reis with a series of wild strikes but Reis uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Carlitos throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Carlitos looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Carlitos trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Reis wants to get back to his feet but Carlitos is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Carlitos advances to half guard. Carlitos is working for a submission of some sort.
Carlitos wants to advance to full mount but Reis doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. No, Reis has escaped the position, nice work there. Carlitos goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Reis has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Carlitos but great work by Reis.

That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Reis tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Reis tries to close the distance and clinch up but Carlitos swats him away and circles back towards the center. Carlitos rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Reis moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Reis tries to clinch but Carlitos moves out of range. Ricardo Reis is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Carlitos tests Reis's chin there with a solid looking shot. Carlitos shoots for a takedown but Reis saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Carlitos cracks Reis with an open hand slap. Ouch! a nice leg kick from Reis, right into the meat.
Carlitos has a takedown stuffed. Carlitos scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Carlitos will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Carlitos shoots for a takedown but Reis saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. A solid leg kick lands there for Reis.

Carlitos has had enough of the clinch but Reis keeps him there for the moment. Reis breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

and Carlitos makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. Reis connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there. Carlitos ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Reis moves away. Reis gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Reis landing some nice looking knees to the body.

Ricardo Reis has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Alexandre Carlitos . Reis breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Carlitos is breathing heavily. Reis's corner calls for a 1,2 combination and Reis duly obliges.

Reis pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Carlitos closes the distance and lands a one-two. Reis throws a head kick that misses. Reis wants to clinch. Carlitos fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Reis plants his feet and lands a nice head kick! Reis wants to clinch up but Carlitos keeps it at a distance. Carlitos will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Carlitos takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor. Reis lands a front kick. Reis tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Reis tries to close the distance and clinch but Carlitos swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Carlitos shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Reis as he avoids it easily. Carlitos misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Carlitos fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Reis manages to avoid it. Reis throws a nice head kick!

That's three minutes gone in the round. Reis ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Carlitos is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Reis rather than just go for the knockout. Reis moves into range and lands a nice leg kick. Carlitos takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
Reis rushes Carlitos and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Reis pushes Carlitos back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head. Reis breaks from the clinch.

Ricardo Reis is winning the standup battle so far. Carlitos looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Reis is fending him off so far but Carlitos persists. Nope, Reis circles away and we're back to standing. Carlitos fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Reis throws a leg kick which misses Carlitos 's front leg but catches the back leg as Carlitos tries to avoid it. Reis lands with a slapping head kick. Reis cracks Carlitos with a good jab. Carlitos shoots in but Reis avoids the takedown attempt easily. Reis tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Carlitos paws at him with a jab and circles away. Carlitos stuns Reis with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. Carlitos scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Reis keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Reis tries to clinch but Carlitos is having none of it. Carlitos keeps the fight on the outside. Carlitos stalks Reis and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Reis's face. Reis staggers backwards, shaken. An inside leg kick lands from Reis. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Ricardo Reis dominated that second round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!
Reis walks into a left hand. Reis dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Carlitos . That did some damage! Carlitos misses with a hook. Carlitos ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Reis moves away. Carlitos shoots for a double leg takedown but Reis sprawls well. He's pushed Carlitos 's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Reis moves into range and lands a nice body kick.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Carlitos is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Reis doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Carlitos . Carlitos is looking to advance position but Reis won't allow it. Carlitos prevents Reis from standing back up.
And that's the end of the fight! Ricardo Reis showed his dominance in that final round. I think Reis has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
