Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jospeh Bush (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Coco Mel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jospeh Bush!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Coco Mel!
The judges for this bout are Ben Hemmingworth, Eliza Hachem and Donatello Bradman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bush fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Mel shoots in looking for a takedown. Bush tries to sprawl out of it but Mel keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Bush manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Mel fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Mel throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Mel throws a head kick that misses.

Bush changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Mel looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
An elbow from Bush crashes against the mat.
Bush wants to lay and pray for a moment but Mel keeps working.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Bush decides to stand up, so the ref orders Mel to his feet.
Bush throws a leg kick that is checked
and Mel counters with a thumping low kick.
Mel shoots in for a double leg but Bush sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Jospeh Bush has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Coco Mel.

Mel forces Bush back against the cage and clinches.
Bush is looking to take this one to the mat.
Mel can't get the takedown.
Mel has Bush pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Bush manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Mel escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Mel.
Bush really is a fat lump.
Mel throws a hook but Bush avoids it easily.
Bush thinks about countering with a head kick.

Bush avoids the body shot from Mel.
A little feinted left hand from Bush on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Mel lands with a hook. Bush tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Mel fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Bush attempts a counter takedown but Mel avoids it well and moves away.
Mel looks winded!
Bush throws the kick towards the body but Mel avoids it.
Bush throws a sloppy head kick and Mel moves out of range easily.

Bush drives through and clinches with Mel against the cage.
Bush is trying to break the clinch but Mel has him pressed against the cage.
Bush is trying to drag Mel to the mat but Mel just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Bush is trying to break free.

Bush has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Mel is trying to keep an underhook but Bush manages to get the takedown into half guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Mel is looking to escape.
Bush throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Mel has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Bush is working away from the top position though.
Bush drops an elbow to the side of Mel's head.

Bush is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Mel has managed to free his arm - good work.
Bush has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Bush decides to return to a standing position.
Mel misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Bush stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Bush wants it to stay on the feet.

Mel pushes Bush up against the cage in a clinch.
Bush wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

Bush pulls guard successfully.
Bush wants to sweep but no luck.
Bush bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Mel's guard.


Bush gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

Mel has managed to clinch.
Bush is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.

Bush manages to break the clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!

Mel tries to pull guard but Bush forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
Mel prevents Bush from breaking the clinch.
Bush is defending well against a takedown attempt.
Bush can't get the takedown.

Bush is working for a kimura but Mel is defending it quite comfortably.

Bush is looking to stand up but he'll have to free his leg first. Instead, Mel manages to get to full guard.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Mel looking to control but Bush passes into half guard.
Mel wants to control but Bush is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Mel tries to get to full guard but Bush has control of the leg.
Mel is breathing heavily.
Mel wants to stand back up but Bush manages to pass into side control.
Mel manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Mel has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Bush is working away from the top position though.

Bush seems to be looking for submissions.
Bush lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.

Bush is trying to work for a kimura but Mel is defending well.
Bush passes into side control, despite Mel's attempt to control the position.

Bush tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Bush has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Bush is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Mel has escaped the position, nice work there.
Mel is not content to let Bush control the position.

Bush decides to stand up, so the ref orders Mel to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jospeh Bush dominated that second round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!


Mel misses with a takedown attempt - Bush sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
It looked like Bush wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Mel throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Bush's waist but Bush gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Mel off to one side.
Bush is looking to land body kicks.
Mel misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Bush half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.

Bush tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Mel paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Mel misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Mel takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Bush keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Bush shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Mel manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Mel is trying to control the position but Bush postures up.
Bush throwing strikes but missing.
Bush working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Mel's head.

Bush lands a couple of digs.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Bush lands a couple of decent looking shots.

Bush stands up and waves to Mel to follow him.
Mel shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Bush as he avoids it easily.

Bush moves into range and clinches up with Mel.
Mel is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.

Bush has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Mel uses from the top position.

Bush looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Bush has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Bush might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Bush is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Mel is aware though and is defending well.
Bush pulls Mel in close to prevent any damage.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Bush is on top in guard.

Bush throws a big right hand that misses.

Mel is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Bush postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.

Bush stands up and waves to Mel to follow him.
Bush misses with a two punch combination.
Bush leaves Mel with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Bush tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Mel manages to circle out of the way.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
A slapping body kick lands there for Bush.

And that's the end of the fight!
Jospeh Bush showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Bush, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
