0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ivan Russian Mammoth! The judges for this bout are George Francis, Tiny Johnson and Cecil Peabody.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hartmann keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Russian Mammoth scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Russian Mammoth wants to pass to mount but Hartmann is defending the position. Russian Mammoth thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Hartmann's head. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Hartmann trying to control here.
Russian Mammoth uses his free foot to push down on Hartmann's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Hartmann.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hartmann is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.

Hartmann's coaches at Breakdown Club have been working on his defensive grappling in preparation for this fight so let's see if he can get out of this tricky position. Russian Mammoth has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Hartmann's face.
