The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Szyslak defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Mortaza.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Szyslak! But no joy.
Mortaza tries for a takedown but Szyslak sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Mortaza takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.

Mortaza throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Szyslak tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Mortaza is in Szyslak's guard.
Szyslak is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Mortaza is controlling him.
Szyslak is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Szyslak can do anything to dispel that myth.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Szyslak wants to stand and escape but Mortaza is having none of it.
