Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Brian Pereira (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Max Power (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Power has chosen Easy Rider as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Max Power has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 5 - 1, fighting out of London, Brian Pereira! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
15 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Max Power! The judges for this bout are Phil Schofield, Sam Margolis and James Ackerman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A jab from Pereira misses. Power connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son. Power throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Power throws a hook but Pereira blocks it. Pereira half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range. The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Power checks a leg kick. Power fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Pereira manages to avoid it. Power fakes a jab and then connects with a hook. Pereira shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Power is trying to defend but Pereira finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Pereira is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

That's one minute gone in the round. The fighters are battling for position here. Power manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Power looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Pereira passes into half guard.

Pereira trying to control the action but Power is working from the bottom. Power works his way to full guard. Good work. Pereira is pressing down on Power's thigh, looking to free his foot. Power is holding on for now. Power is looking for a sweep. Pereira is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Power is still trying to improve position.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Pereira shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Power pinned against the cage. Power gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. It seemed like Power was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it. Pereira tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Power paws at him with a jab and circles away. Pereira shoots in for a double leg but Power sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Power swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made. Power paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button. Power lands a right hook to the body.
A looping hook to the body misses from Pereira. Power does a little dance to reset his feet. Power with a body punch. A glancing blow. Max Power is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Pereira throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land. Power lands a slapping body shot.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Power keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.
Pereira fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Power manages to avoid it. Pereira pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Pereira fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Power has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage. Power lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Max Power will probably get the nod. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Pereira appeared to be looking to counter that last move with a leg kick. Pereira feints and then cracks Power's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Power down. Power swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Power connects with a looping right hand.
Power catches Pereira with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong! Power shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Pereira eats them both and turns towards Power to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo. Power moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross. Power throws a body punch but Pereira moves out of range. Power defending well as Pereira loads up on a big left hand. Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Power lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Pereira has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Pereira and we're back underway with a touch of gloves. Pereira is looking to counter with a body kick. Pereira digs a good hook to Power's body.
Pereira throws a body punch but Power moves out of range. Max Power seems to be getting the better of the standup. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Pereira gets a clinch. Pereira lands with a short shot to the head. Power pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage. Pereira can't get the takedown.

Power swings wildly with an uppercut but Pereira uses good head movement to avoid it. Power is looking to control Pereira's arms but Pereira gets an underhook and turns him. Now Power has his back to the cage. Pereira manages to pull guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Power trying to control the position from guard on top but Pereira is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Power won't allow Pereira to sweep him here. Pereira is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

My spies in Dr Hatsumi's Clinic inform me that Power has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends! That was a close second round but I would say that Brian Pereira will probably get the nod. That's time! Back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Power lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Pereira scrambles back to his feet. Pereira defending well as Power loads up on a big left hand. Pereira wants to clinch and Power counters with a series of strikes. Pereira will be more careful next time no doubt. Pereira throws a head kick but Power moves out of range.

and Power counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. A nice leg kick lands there from Power. Pereira lands a nice leg kick that just misses Power's sensitive parts. Pereira misses with an uppercut. Power saw that one coming. Power has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Pereira tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Power defends well and Pereira ends up having to push Power into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Brian Pereira overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Pereira is working for a submission of some sort.
Power won't allow Pereira to pass to mount.
And that's the end of the fight! Max Power comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Power has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
