Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of

0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Question Answered ! The judges for this bout are Dirk Anderson, David Hoff and Peter Branson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Answered takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him. Sakata tries to bum rush Answered with a series of wild strikes but Answered uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Sakata fails to land with a series of punches.
Jab, jab by Sakata - just one landing. Answered clinches with his opponent.
Sakata wants to take the fight to the mat but Answered manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch. Answered manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Answered can do anything to dispel that myth. Sakata wants to control from the top but Answered keeps moving. Answered looking to sweep here. No luck so far. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Sakata accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Answered not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Sakata passes easily into side control. Nice work. Sakata tries to advance to mount but can't.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sakata in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time. Answered is trying to control Sakata's posture but Sakata avoids it. Sakata wants to lay and pray for a moment but Answered keeps working. Sakata misses with an attempted head punch from side control. You can see the frustration on Answered 's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Sakata fails to land a wild elbow strike.
We've been hearing that Sakata has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish. Sakata misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Answered avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Sakata. The ground and pound from Sakata seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent. Sakata has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Sakata advances to mount. Answered tries to hold on but Sakata pushes him away. Answered is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.
Sakata prevents Answered from getting the reversal. Answered wants to control but Sakata is having none of it. Answered throwing punches from his back but nothing is landing.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Sakata throwing shots from mount but they're not landing. Sakata connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Answered is trying to escape the mount.
Sakata with shots to the head and body - Answered looks very uncomfortable down there. Answered wants to hold on but Sakata pushes him away. Answered is trying desperately to improve position. Answered avoids a series of strikes thrown by Sakata.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Sakata throwing shots from mount but they're not landing. Sakata punishing his opponent with strikes.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Answered wants to hold on but Sakata pushes him away. Sakata cracks Answered with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Sakata lands a big shot there that rocks Answered but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Answered is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Answered slips a leg in and gets back to half guard. Sakata throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Sakata wants to take a breather but Answered is having none of it. Answered looking for submissions off his back. Answered looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Sakata wants to take a breather but Answered is having none of it. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Akio Sakata dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Answered looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple. Sakata swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Answered takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor. Sakata scores with a one two! Answered had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes. Answered manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Sakata on his heels. He'll look to pass Sakata's guard now, I'm sure. Sakata trying to keep a closed guard but Answered is proving a slippery customer.
Akio Sakata overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Answered wants to control from the top but Sakata keeps moving. Answered looking to improve position, pressing down on Sakata's thigh with his hand. Sakata seems to be working to lock up a guilotine though... is Answered paying attention? Apparently not! He's locked it up tight! Answered 's face has turned purple! Will he tap? Will he! YES! He's tapped! Sakata picked his opening and made it count! Great finish!
