Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Winner Three (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Steven Work (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Winner Three!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Steven Work!
The judges for this bout are Peter Branson, Santiago Holmes and Dirk Anderson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Work shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Three throws a sloppy head kick and Work moves out of range easily.
A head kick misses from Three.
Work keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Three.
A jab from Three finds it's way through Work's defenses.
Three is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
Winner Three seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Work closes the distance and pushes Three back into the cage.
Three leaning his opponent against the cage.

Three manages to break the clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Three throws a head kick that misses.
Three misses the shot to the body.
Three scores with a body shot.
Work shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Three throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Work closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Three tries to pull guard but Work holds him up against the cage and eventually Three drops back down to his feet.

Three breaks from the clinch.

Work shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Work slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Work works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Work tries to stand but can't do so whilst Three controls his leg.
Work is thwarting Three's attempts to control the position.

Work stalling.
Three is looking to control Work's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Three avoid being mounted?
Three tries to get to full guard but Work has control of the leg.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Three feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Work's calf.
Work's coach down at Cozad The Island was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Work's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.

Three pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Work swings away with a leg kick that misses.
Three throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Work walks into a left hand.
Work tries to close the distance and clinch but Three swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Three throws a jab when Work was well out of range.
Work was about to counter that last move with a leg kick but changes his mind.
A decent looking cross lands there for Three.
Work fails in his attempt to clinch.
Three lands a body shot.
Three misses with a head kick.
Work drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Three defends it well.
Three throws a head kick but Work moves out of range.

Work shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Work was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Work gets to mount! Three was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly.
Three is breathing heavily.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Three is in a horrible position here. Work smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Work with shots to the head and body - Three looks very uncomfortable down there.
Work lands a nice shot to the head.

It looks like Winner Three has been cut.
Three knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Work on the ground.
Work lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Steven Work will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on Winner Three's cut.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Work goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.

Work tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.
Work keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Work blocks a head kick by Three.
Three leaves Work with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Work dives in and grabs Three's left leg, looking for a takedown. Three pushes down on Work's head and hops out.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Work.
Winner Three has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Steven Work.
Three throws a head kick but Work moves out of range.
Work follows through with a counter body kick but it doesn't land.
Work wants to clinch.

Work looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Work takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Work is breathing heavily.
Work misses with the combination.
Winner Three is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Three lands with a shot to the body.
Three throws a head kick that misses.
Nice straight punches there by Three. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Three.
Three lands with a thumping leg kick.
Three bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Work misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

Three throws a nice outside leg kick.
Winner Three is winning the standup battle so far.
Three misses with a head kick.
A thudding body kick lands there by Three!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Three throws a nice head kick!
Work fails with a takedown attempt.
Three works Work's body with a nice hook.
Three lands with a good body shot.

Three scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Work doesn't seem bothered though.
Three lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.
Three fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Work has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Three pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Three fakes the leg kick and cracks Work in the body.
Three uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Work has time to react.
Three cracks the inside of Work's front leg.
Three misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
A nice leg kick lands there from Three.
Three fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Three dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Work fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Three dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Work. That did some damage!

Three bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.
Work steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Three. That one must have hurt.

Three lands a nice leg kick that just misses Work's sensitive parts.
Work avoids the head kick by Three.
Steven Work is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Work throws a fast counter high kick but Three manages to duck under it in time.
Three lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.
Work takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards.
Work looks for a takedown but Three sprawls well.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!


Three connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Three, as that shot connected.
Three keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Work's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down.
Three changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Three misses with a body kick.
Work looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
Work walks forward, straight into a front kick from Three.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Three darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Three explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work.
Work takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
That kick from Three tenderised Work's leg. Work is trying to keep his angry face on.
Work throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Three throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Three looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Three lands a nice leg kick that just misses Work's sensitive parts.

Three scores with a hook to the body. Work takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Three scores with a nice right hand.
Work takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
Work tries a head kick but it misses.
Three stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
A nice leg kick lands there from Three.
Work takes a kick to the body and keeps moving.
Work walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Work stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Three.
Three lands a jab to the head.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Work tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Three digs a good body shot into Work's ribs.
Three buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Three throws a mid kick that lands with a slap.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Work crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Three - the referee stops the clock and Work gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Three. Work manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Three.
Work will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Three is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Work can do to turn this around?
Work takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Three with a hook.
Three throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Work has developed a nice purple lump on his ribcage, as a result of some heavy body kicks from Three.
Three throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Three here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.

Winner Three has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Steven Work.

Both fighters circling a little - Three finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.
Work avoids the head kick by Three.

Three lands a leg kick that knocks Work off balance momentarily.
Three throws a head kick but Work moves out of range.
Work with the counter takedown but Three avoids it easily.
Three finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Work moves out of range of the leg kick from Three.
Three lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.

Work instigates a clinch.
Three tries to pull guard but Work won't allow it.

Work is trying to push Three away but Three has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Work can't break the clinch.
Three prevents the takedown attempt.
Work has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Three after a bit of a struggle.
Work is trying to pull guard but Three turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Three throws an elbow but it misses.
Three tries to pull guard but Work forces him back to his feet, against the cage.

Three breaks from the clinch.
Work is looking to clinch.
Work takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Three uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Work.

And that's the end of the fight!
Winner Three showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Three has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
