Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 1, fighting out of London, jk o! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Paul Gannon! The judges for this bout are James Atkins, James Glass and Richard Clark.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! o shoots in but Gannon avoids the takedown attempt easily. Gannon looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight! o fails in his attempt to clinch. The fight stays on the outside here - o looks like he's thinking about clinching though. o connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head. o shoots for a double leg takedown but Gannon sprawls well. He's pushed o's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. o scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. o is figuring out what he wants to do next. Ground and pound from o. o trying to control the action but Gannon is working from the bottom. o slows the pace down in half guard. o's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Gannon defends it well. o takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. o trying to pass the guard but Gannon defending well. o missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Gannon controlling the position well.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. o thows a huge punch but Gannon dodges it nicely.
Gannon is in trouble now - o has advanced to mount! o is standing up, even though he is in mount. o takes the fight into the clinch. o jumps guard and drags Gannon to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. o is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gannon trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Gannon won't allow o to get back to his feet. Gannon trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Gannon with a flurry of punches that miss. Gannon controls the pace of the fight for a moment. o is looking for a triangle but Gannon pushes his legs off easily.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Gannon changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. o looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. o is looking for a sweep. o is working hard here to advance position. o sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard. Gannon prevents o from improving his position. o wants to control but Gannon is keeping busy.

o shoots and misses and Gannon counters with a nice double leg into half guard. o wants to control but Gannon is keeping busy.
o tries to get to full guard but Gannon has control of the leg. o striking from half guard on the bottom. Gannon is keen to just control but o is a slippery customer. o trying to control from the bottom.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Gannon trying to mount his opponent but o defends it. o gets back to full guard.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. o misses with a takedown and Gannon counters by moving into the clinch. o has Gannon pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Gannon manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for jk o. That's going to take a lot out of him. Come on Gannon - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.
Gannon breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

That's two minutes gone in the round. o wants to stand and escape but Gannon is having none of it. Gannon wants to control from the top but o keeps moving. o looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Gannon trying to control but o is working from the bottom. Gannon is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Gannon shoots in but doesn't get the takedown so o counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Gannon has his feet on o's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work. o looks to clinch and Gannon counters with a single leg into guard. o didn't expect that. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Gannon postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. o manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Gannon with a poor takedown and o counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. jk o is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
That's four minutes gone in the round. o looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. o throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Gannon trying to control from the bottom.
o wants to control but Gannon is keeping him busy. o tries to stand but can't do so whilst Gannon controls his leg. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. o postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Gannon to stand up. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Paul Gannon showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!

Gannon shoots in and drives through. o sprawls well. o misses with a takedown and Gannon counters with a one-two to the body. Gannon changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. o tries to avoid it but Gannon manages to keep hold of a leg and drag o to the ground. o escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. o misses with a takedown attempt so Gannon counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
That's three minutes gone in the round. o controls Gannon momentarily but Gannon frees himself. o wants to control but Gannon passes easily into half guard.
Gannon lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. o is looking for a sweep. Gannon is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. o trying to control from the bottom.
o wants to get back to his feet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. o is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. o pushes Gannon up against the cage in a clinch. Gannon tries for a takedown. No joy.
jk o has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Paul Gannon. Gannon gets underhooks to prevent o's takedown attempt.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors. o breaks from the clinch.
o shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Gannon counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Paul Gannon really dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
o fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Gannon sprawls well initially but o persists and gets the takedown into half guard. o stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Gannon to get to his feet. o with a lazy takedown attempt and Gannon counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Gannon. Gannon stands up and waves to o to follow him. o misses with a takedown and Gannon counters with a right hand to the body. o with a poor takedown and Gannon counters with a nice double leg into side control. o won't be happy with that. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for jk o. That's going to take a lot out of him. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! o manages to get back to half guard. o wants to control but Gannon is keeping busy.
o is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control. It's got to the stage where if one of these guys blows hard enough, the other might fall over.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Gannon's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. o doesn't succeed with the takedown and Gannon counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. o tries to roll over but Gannon keeps him under control. o striking from half guard on the bottom. Gannon is thwarting o's attempts to control the position. o is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Gannon's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Gannon's back! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gannon trying to control but not successfully. o lands a couple of good shots to his opponent's body and a final shot to the head. Good little attack there by o.
Gannon is trapped and o is scoring with shots to the head and body. o tries to keep control of the position but Gannon is staying busy. Gannon showing good submission defense here.
o lands a punch that was close to the back of the head but the ref thinks it's OK.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. o avoiding Gannon 's attempts to control his hands. o trying desperately to keep hold of the dominant position.
o scores with punches and elbows. Gannon is having to fend off submission attempts from o, who is looking to sink in the choke. o doesn't have the hooks in though and Gannon manages to reverse position! He's now on top, in his opponent's guard. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. o throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Paul Gannon dominated that fourth round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!
o throws a sloppy head kick and Gannon cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Gannon takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.
o looks to clinch and Gannon counters into the clinch. Nicely done. o jumps into guard, dragging Gannon to the mat.
o has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Gannon can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. o wants to sweep but no luck. Gannon decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on o, up you get! Both of our modern day gladiators look out of it here - an gruelling 5 rounds of action taking it's toll on them, no doubt. o shoots in and drives through. Gannon sprawls well. Gannon tries to close the distance and clinch up but o swats him away and circles back towards the center.
That's one minute gone in the round. o throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Gannon's waist but Gannon gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing o off to one side. o shoots for a double leg takedown but Gannon sprawls well. He's pushed o's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for jk o. That's going to take a lot out of him. o throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body. Gannon tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. o misses with a few strikes there.
Horrible takedown by Gannon or perhaps it was just good defense by o which made him look bad. o fails with the takedown and Gannon counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Gannon gets control of o's arms and successfully pulls guard. Gannon will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back. o wants to stand but Gannon has a closed guard, so he can't escape. o trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. o trying to control but Gannon is working from the bottom. o looking to pass the guard. o wants to control from the top but Gannon keeps moving. o passes Gannon's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. o is tying to control. Gannon wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. o has his takedown stuffed and Gannon counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Gannon. Gannon trying to control but o is working from the bottom. Gannon won't allow o to sweep him here. o avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. o bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Gannon's guard. o trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Gannon being controlled here, momentarily. o avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
o would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. o lands a couple of elbows. jk o has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Paul Gannon is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Gannon has his foot on o's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. o works his way back into a safe position though.
