Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Matos closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Boyer quickly recovers to half guard.
Matos trying to pass the guard but Boyer defending well.
Boyer knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Matos on the ground.

Matos is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
Matos jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Boyer manages to avoid the submission attempt.
Matos works to advance to full mount. Boyer defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Matos looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.

Boyer tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Matos has control of Boyer's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Boyer regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Matos is controlling this nicely and is looking to make no mistakes. Boyer is trying to wiggle out of this horrible position. Boyer flips to his side and attempts to get a leg in for half guard. Matos anticipates the leg and manages to get behind Boyer and secures both hooks! This could be bad! Matos slips an arm under Boyer chin and tries to position for a rear naked choke. Matos has worked the choke in now and it looks tight. Matos is squeezing on Boyer like an anaconda would it's prey. Boyer fails to tap and has fallen unconscious! We've got ourselves a winner by way of a rear naked choke!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:47 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Caliman Matos!
